Cottage in Ambleside English Lake District

Our lovely Grade 2 listed cottage is believed to date back to the 1600s. It is right in the centre of the quintessential Lake District village of Ambleside a few meters from pubs, restaurants, cinemas and shops.
Upstairs there is a twin bedroom and a double bedroom with TV. The shower room and toilet is also upstairs. Although the stairs are quite steep, there are handrails on either side for support but it is not suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet.
Outside to the back of the cottage, there is a terrace for sitting out and enjoying the evening sun and views up Loughrigg. There is sometimes residents parking available on Compston Street to the rear of the cottage.
Ambleside is well served by busses connecting it to other villages in the Lake District and to Windermere where there is a railway station.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Manchester -

Ambleside is a traditional Lakeland village about 4 miles from Windermere and the train station. It is close to Grasmere, Hawkeshead and Bowness which are all worth a visit.
Ambleside has 3 cinemas and numerous pubs and restaurants as well as a couple of Michelin starred establishments close by. There are a good selection of National Trust properties in the area and Allan Bank is particularly worth a trip, to see the red squirrels
