Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Tegel Berlin - 23km

Our home is located in Potsdam, the main city from Brandenburg in a friendly and quiet neighborhood and very central. It takes only few minutes to walk to the Babelsberg park. In summer we used to go swim and to Babelsberg, a very interesting neighborhood with houses of the ancient weavers and some small stores.

Beside all the known touristic sideseens of Potsdam like Sanssouci, Cecilienhof, Höllandisches Viertel... (look www.potsdamtourist.de) they are reachable by a good walk or as well with the public transport here. You will find the Park Babelsberg and Glienicker Brücke (Cityborder to Berlin) very close. My recommendation to you is a boattrip true the lakes and riversystem here or as well to the Berlin City.

To go to the city center you can use public transport. The nearest tram station is less than 5 minutes from our house. Another option is cycling (ca. 10 min) or hiking (ca. 20 minutes).
Anyway, the old city is very close, as well the wonderful park Sansoussi, the summer residence of Prussian kings.
Potsdam is a town south of Berlin with a population of almost 160.000. It is ideal location for culture lovers, nature lovers and for families because it offers all kinds of activities that in many occasions convene both things. It is a lovely city with many castles, parks, lakes, all near the city centre.
It´s something very special go swimming near castles or or take a bike ride through the historic centers.

Another advantage from Potsdam is the proximity from Berlin. The cities are neighbors. You only need to take the S-Bahn and in 40 minutes you will be in Berlins centre. To go to the train station (we have 2 near) you can walk almost 15 minutes or you can take the tram. It´s very easy.

Of course you can drive too. And if you like shopping then Berlin is the place to be.

If you want to know more about our city, please take a look in those links.
