We are interested in shorter stays in Ireland, e.g. one week. Apart from this, we would also consider exchanges outside of Ireland. Exchange in Kerry, Ireland already agreed for mid-September.

House in Curracloe, Co. Wexford, Ireland

Our house is our second home (built in 2005), has all modern conveniences, and is located in a small village 8km from Wexford. We have enjoyed 10 house exchanges! Our home is near three sandy beaches including Balinesker beach that featured in the Spielberg film Saving Private Ryan, and Curracloe beach that features in the 2015 film Brooklyn. Raven Nature Reserve/Forest is also nearby and contains rare and unusual plants and butterflies. We are very near Wexford Wildfowl Reserve- a bird sanctuary- that is home to different types of migrant birds.
Wexford is known as the sunny south east in Ireland and enjoys the best weather. Typical summer temperatures would be 18 to 23 degrees celsius. It is also a good location for touring the south or east of the country, although being a small country, it is possible to get to most parts of the country in one day.

Please note that as our children are now adults and no longer accompany us, we are only open for exchanges with adults, preferably a maximum of two adults.

You can get more information about Wexford at:
www.visitwexford.ie/ an excellent site that gives lots of information about Wexford including details of Top Attractions, Things to see and do , Restaurants etc.
The Ireland's Ancient East website provides information about the eastern part of the country of which Wexford forms an important part: https://www.irelandsancienteast.com/

Travelling  to Ireland (Rosslare) by ferry from  France (Roscoff/Cherbourg) and Great Britain (Pembroke) is convenient as the ferryport is only about 30 minutes from the house.  Several daily ferry crossings to Ireland are also available from Stranraer in Scotland and Holyhead in Wales. From mid-2018 a new Dublin-France (Roscoff/Cherbourg) crossing will commence, resulting in a daily service between Ireland and France

You can fly to Dublin or Cork and then travel by car to Wexford in less than 2 hours.
