Two-bedroom house in Sint Odiliënberg, near Roermond. 50 km North of Maastricht.

Our semi-detached house (in a quiet village with about 3000 inhabitants) is not large but modern and comfortable. Integral garage; underfloor central heating on the ground-floor and in the bathroom. For summer time there is a mobile airco in the master bedroom..
The guestroom has two beds and a wash basin. We will make place for your clothes in the wardrobes.
In the bathroom is a double wash basin, 2nd toilet and a "walk-in" shower.
A small study has a computer at your disposal.
At the back of the house is a garden where you can sit either in the sun or in the shadow, just what you prefer.
Since February 2014 we 've adopted a sweet little dog, called Grace. She is lively, but quiet too and obedient. Not allowed on the furniture nor in bedrooms. At night she sleeps in the hall. We would like to take her with us, if possible. We have taken her with us already some times and she behaved very well; no problems at all. Your dog is welcome in our house, if quiet and well behaving.

About Our Family

We live in this village since 2005, but are from the North-Western part of the Netherlands by origin. Dirk is retired as chief engineer in the merchant navy. He sailed the oceans and Tineke has joined him several times.
We 've got one daughter who lives in a nearby village with her family.

We do not like (big) cities, but prefer a quiet neighbourhood without noise from traffic.

Lifestyle

We often go for a walk or make a bike tour in the surroundings of our village.
Dirk likes to do the cooking and also bakes our own bread. Not in a bakingmachine, but in a bread-tin in the oven, so "handmade", although he does the mixing in his KitchenAid machine.
He has found a hobby as a volunteer guide on the Prins Bernhard windmill in Melick and since May 2014 he is a qualified miller on this mill, but also helps at the "Hompesche Molen" near Stevensweert from time to time. He also is involved in a small museum with ancient farmers' tools and - machineries, opposite to the Prins Bernard mill, across the road.

Tineke joins a folkdance group of seniors, which is big fun and also good for the condition. Three or four times a year we do a "performance" in elderly homes in our municipality. Since spring 2017 she is one of the volunteers of the library.

Some exchanges with Intervac we made: 2003: near Regensburg, Germany.  2004: Oslo, Norway.  2006: Villard-de-Lans, France. 2013: Bad Camberg, Germany.  And a lot in  the Netherlands. We did some house-sittings too.
Apart from Intervac we also have spent our holidays throughout the years in Australia, Norway, Ireland, Poland, Germany and France.
