Oviedo is the capital of Asturias, Spain’s “paraíso natural” (natural paradise). Nestled between the mountains and the sea, it offers the best of both worlds: the 2,000m-plus peaks of the Picos de Europa and the beaches of the Cantabrian Sea are both just 30 minutes away.

Our flat is in a charming 1940s building, with its original façade protected as part of the town’s architectural heritage. It’s on a quiet street directly across from the Camino de Santiago Pilgrims’ Hostel—just a 5-minute walk to the old town (10 minutes to the Cathedral) and 10 minutes from trails that lead deep into the green landscapes of Asturias.

The flat is on the third floor of a four-story building. There’s currently no elevator (although the owners’ association has formally approved the installation of one). Inside, you’ll find a bright living room with a sofa bed, and three bedrooms (two doubles and one single). The flat has all the main appliances, but we’ve kept it minimalist and uncluttered.
