Oranmore is a village by the sea just 9 km from Galway city. With regular bus and train connections to the city, it is now part of the Galway suburban area. We live in a mature and pleasant estate in the village. Our house is within a five-minute walk of shops, pubs and good restaurants. The bus stop is just a three-minute walk away and it takes approximately 20 minutes to walk to the train station or you can drive there and avail of free parking.
Rinville Park is a three minute drive or ten minute cycle from our house. The Park is a wonderful amenity with an extensive network of walks through woodlands and by the sea as well as a great children's playground and picnic area. Galway Bay Golf Club adjoins the Park. You can dine or have a snack in its restaurant while enjoying the stunning views over the bay on fine days.
There is an hourly bus service to/from Galway city centre. The regular bus service gives easy access to the city and all its attractions without the hassle and cost of driving and parking. There is always something of interest happening in Galway with its numerous festivals and cultural events.
The Burren to the south is just a half-hour drive from our house while Connemara is also easily accessible by car.
