Flat in Reykjavík, Iceland

Our apartment is on the 3rd floor in an apartment block. It is ca. 120 sq. m. with a great view.
There are three bedrooms, the master bedroom with a double bed and two kids rooms, each with a single bed....and lots of toys :)
The living room area is quite big, with a large dining table and sofa and TV...and everything you need to relax in the evening (dvd, media centre, cable TV, playstation). From the livingroom you can access the balcony where we have a barbeque and a small table if you want to enjoy a meal on the balcony.
In the kitchen you will find a gas-stove and a small dining table ... and all the other things you need to make a meal.

Our Neighbourhood

Our apartment is centrally located in an area called Hlíðar. It is close to a public park, Klambratún/Miklatún, where you can go and have a picnic and visit Kjarvalsstaðir (art musem). It only takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the main shopping street, Laugavegur, and from there you can walk to the city center and the harbour. We are also just 10-15 minutes away from Reykjavik´s biggest shopping mall, Kringlan.

It is easy to get around in Reykjavik, whether you are driving a car, riding a bike or taking a bus. It only takes a couple of minutes to walk to the next bus-station on Miklabraut. From there you can take a bus downtown or to the suburbs of Reykjavik.
And you can´t come to Reykjavik without going swimming in one of our many swimmingpools. Most of them are outdoors and it is quite wonderful to go swimming on a beautiful sunny day or to relax in the hot tub.

About Our Family

We are Arnar and Margrét and we have two boys, Elvar (12) and Haukur (8). We love to travel and had our first exhange in the summer 2012. We were very happy with that experience and would love to do it again.
At the moment we have no specific ideas about the next exhange, we just have an open mind to exciting offers :)
Feel free to contact us if you think we could make a match and also if you have any questions about travelling to Iceland. We travel around the country a lot and could point out many great things to see.
All the best
Arnar and Margrét

Lifestyle

We love to travel, both abroad as well as in our home country and we try to seize every oppertunity we get to do so. During the summer we take many roadtrips, especially to the western part of Iceland where we have a cottage.
