Flat in New York, USA

We have a well-located apartment in the wonderful upper west side very close to the subway and with very good bus connections. Lincoln Center with the Metropolitan Opera House and the other music theaters is only 5 minutes walking. The subway takes only ten minutes to Times Square and midtown. The buses are frequent and take you to all the major attractions and shopping areas in reasonable time.
The apartment is cozy and nice. It faces east with excellent views of Central Park and good light.
There is one large bedroom, a nice size living room with a very comfortable sofa for watching TV, reading and socializing. The dining table for 4 persons is close to the window with panoramic views of the city. The apartment has a very pleasant atmosphere with nice furniture including two TVs, two desks, computers and lots of books and music tapes. It is both elegant and practical. A nice place to rest after visiting the city.
A small kitchen has all the appliances needed to cook and it is easy to take care and maintain.
In the neighborhood there are well-known wonderful supermarkets, restaurants, movie theaters and Central Park is only two blocks away.

About Our Family

We are a retired couple. Rafael taught math for many years in several colleges and Himelda worked in Washington at the World Bank for 20 years. We married in November 2000 and we have lived in NYC since then. Rafael has a son who lives in Portland Oregon and a daughter from a previous marriage. He has two grandchildren who live in Colombia, S.A.
We have made some 20 exchanges and have loved everyone of them. We are experienced travelers and love meeting people wherever we go. Classical music, theater, and movies are our favorite activities.

Lifestyle

We are very frequent travelers. The pictures incluye our photos in Central Park visiting The Gates Exhibit, in Salzburg getting ready to go to the music festival, in Guatemala visiting a Mayan town and in Korea where we attended a Math seminar.
We are interested in museums, classical music and theater. We also like to tour small towns and villages and we often take river cruises with friends.
