Flat in Balingen, Germany
Hello - we would love to change homes with you. We are interested in all of Europe and perhaps the rest of the world !
Our little city ( about 34000 persons ) has a lot to offer: theater, movies, open-air-pool, piscine ( indoor and outdoor ), an inner-city without cars and very attractive ( it is called "Little-Venice" ). We also have tennis- and sqash-halls and lots of football-fields. For the youngest there are several playgrounds near our home. And in case of bad weather there is a huge indoor-playground, including some climbing-walls.Fans of ballsports should know that our little city has got a premier league handball-team, called HBW Balingen-Weilstetten.
It´s no problem to go shopping by foot and also make huge shopping tours in the city itself and others like Reutlingen, Tübingen and Stuttgart.
Our region is very interesting for historical reasons: there once was the Jura-Ocean, so now we find a lot of archeological groups at work. Our ansinsters, the Allemans left lots of graves and not to forget the Romans. Less than 10 chilometers away you can find a huge roman villa with very interesting events in the summer - experimential archeology.
The ones who are interested in the youngest history can visit a Nazi-Camp but also the resistance-home against the Nazis.
The most important historical building is of course the castle of the Hohenzollern which is only about 10 chilometers away and worth more than only a one-day-visit.
Our region has a wonderful nature to offer. Forests and fields everywhere which can be visited by foot or by bike. Our home lies at the foot of the "Suevian Mountains" and therefore in between of 2 really huge national parks. We also have a "camino" connected to the "camino" of Jacob per Santiago de Compostela.
To arrive at the Lake of Constance it is only a three-quater-of-an-hour-ride, about 40 chilometers which also makes Swizzerland very reachable. Of course you can visit the "Rhine Cascades" near Schaffhausen in less than an hour.
There are 50 chilometers to Stuttgart and therefore to the airport, the Zoo Wilhelma, lots of museums, shopping avenues and big-city-life.
The University of Tübingen is only 25 chilometers away and the city itself offers more than knowledge. The river Neckar goes through it and you can rent boats or make tours through the countryside. In Tübingen we also find one of the most popular indoor-playgrounds for children of all ages.
The City of Rottweil is also about 25 chilometers away and offers a very old inner-city and a special sole-pool. Fans of traditional Carneval should visit Rottweil.
The Blackforest and its capital city Freiburg are only 80 chilometers away and definetly worth a trip.
Let´s contact and perhaps change homes for a while!

Our Neighbourhood

Our street is quite quiet. It is very near to the school center and the playgrounds, so that you hear and see children play now and then.
In 5 minutes you can reach the inner-city by foot and go shopping. In the opposite direction you reach bike- and hike-ways to forests and fields.
