Just a few photos to help you decide..
My house is 10 minutes away from tubes/subways, trains and buses. You could be visiting all tourists attractions within 30 minutes. I much prefer to travel on the buses only because you see and enjoy London alot more.
There are plenty of local shops, restaurants in Balham. There is a library for smaller children to come and read books although I have alot at home anyway. The swimming pool is about 20 minutes away and there are so many local restaurants. There is a huge common/Park at the bottom of my road which has a swing park with a small sandpit for smaller children to play in.
There is a car available but the transport is so good and very close that I seldom use it.
I have completed lots home exchanges under this membership and each one has been fantastic.

This park is at the bottom of my road. The park includes a swing park and sandpit for smaller children. There is also a youth club for teenagers and there's a 1 O'clock club for children under 5 years old.
A full walk around the park will include dog walkers, a tea house that serves tea, snacks and ice cream. You can bring a picnic blanket and spend the whole day out with some people having BBQ's and playing frisbee games.
