Apartment in central Edinburgh, Great Britain

My apartment is very close to the centre of Edinburgh in Scotland.  It is the top floor of a converted school, a stone building from 1835.  It is up two flights of stairs (no lift) and the inside is very modern.  Because of my city centre location I don't have a car but you can walk most places very easily and the public transport is very good. This area has the most wonderful charity shops, is within an easy walk of the Botanics and offers a lovely river walk too.

Edinburgh is within easy reach of other places in Scotland and my apartment is near the bus, tram and train stations and the bus route from the airport.  Edinburgh is a popular tourist destination all year round, but my flat is not normally available in August.

I have a double bedroom, a large single bedroom and one room with bunk beds. The double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and there is also a main bathroom. There is a south-facing balcony off the living room. The living room is also the kitchen! Strong wifi and all other mod cons.

About Our Family

I live here alone and I am self-employed so free to travel throughout the year. I  travel alone or with a friend. My adult son lives nearby and is available for any help needed while you are visiting. My daughter lives in New Zealand and I visit there in the (Northern) autumn/winter.

Lifestyle

Edinburgh is an important tourist destination with lots of interest for everyone.  Most of the attractions are within easy walking distance of my apartment.  My neighbourhood (Stockbridge) is a vibrant one with lots of pubs and restaurants. A local pub 'session' (in the photos) takes place every Thursday evening just a few doors away from my home.  You don't even have to cross the road to get home!
The area is noted for its 'charity shops' and treasure-hunting there is one of my hobbies. It's quite a quirky place with cafes and small shops.
