Our Neighbourhood

No room for more photos of the beautiful Peak District but there are plenty plus further information on this web site: http://www.visitpeakdistrict.com/
Steeped in history and with a fascinating cultural heritage, the Peak District and Derbyshire is packed with things to see and do – from the World Heritage site of the Derwent Valley and bustling market towns to picturesque villages, palatial country mansions and the stunning landscapes of Britain's first National Park.
Discover how the other half lived in magnificent stately homes such as Chatsworth House and Hardwick Hall or the medieval Haddon Hall, or the wonderful gardens of Renishaw Hall, delve into the area's rich industrial heritage at The Silk Mill – Derby's Museum of Industry and History and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, or visit Heage Windmill, the only working stone towered, multi-sailed windmill in the country.
Take a trip down memory lane at Crich Tramway Village, step even further back in time with a trip to the English Heritage-owned Bolsover Castle where you can see a medieval joust or watch skilled combat displays by battling knights, or experience the exhilarating white knuckle rides of Alton Towers, Britain's biggest theme park.
Explore the streets, sights and shops of towns such as Ashbourne, Matlock Bath, Chesterfield and Buxton, with its beautiful Opera House and renowned as the site of pure, volcanic mineral water since Roman times – and if you're the green-fingered type, you'll love the region's excellent range of gardens, from the formality of stately home parks to small, specialist gardens.

About Our Family

We have been members of Intervac on and off over the past 30 years in our two previous houses when our children were young and long after they left home. Only our exchanges undertaken since the advent of the Internet are listed in our exchange total! All of our exchange partners have been very happy with our houses which have always been comfortable, clean and well organised.

We are both retired teachers who are enjoying the freedom of holidaying outside school holiday periods! We are open to short exchanges within G.B at any time of the year.
