Llagostera is a small town with around 8000 inhabitants (http://www.visitallagostera.com/en/)
It is placed in Girona province, north of Catalonia. The town is situated in a privileged place since it is only 20 minutes far to the awesome beaches of la Costa Brava: S’Agaró (13 minutes), Platja d’Aro (15 minutes), Tossa de Mar (21 minutes), Sant Antoni de Calonge (22 minutes), Palamós (23 minutes). (https://www.visitacostabrava.com/en/towns; https://en.costabrava.org/).
El Cap de Creus (El Port de la Selva, Cadaqués, Roses) which is marvelous is quite further but well worthy (1h 11 minutes). Cap de Creus, is the last outlet of the Pyrenees and at the same time the most eastern point of the Iberian Peninsula on the map. This nature reserve is the only one in Spain, which covers sea and land at the same time; it contains the largest uninhabited area in the Spanish Mediterranean. (https://www.empordaturisme.com/en/gp/parc-natural-del-cap-de-creus/).
Other places of interest are: the historical city of Girona (24 minutes) which it is a quiet and beautiful city with a very interesting Jewish Quarter, and the impressive Cathedral, with a huge nave. (https://www.girona.cat/turisme/eng/index.php), Besalú (41 minutes), Figueres (58 minutes) with Dali’s Museum; Sadernes (1h) among many others.
We are only 91 km far from Barcelona (easily accessible by car or by train). (https://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/en/).
The Pyrenees are at 100 km away (2 hours far), with many ski stations in winter and amazing trekking trails in spring, summer and autumn (https://www.cataloniapyreneesexplorer.com/nuevo-indice).
It is important to highlight the famous Mediterranean cooking, which you will able to taste in familiar atmosphere restaurants at medium price or restaurants awarded with Michelin stars at higher cost. This area is also a good one to find many kind of different wines with origin denomination.
