A green quiet oasis near lakes and the center of Stockholm

We woud like to exchange 2 weeks between 1th of july to 1th of september 2024 near the sea. We have no car and drivimg license and prefer to have only 15 minutes to walk to the sea (maybee bus or trains).
We prefere to have a flat or room near a place we can go and swim every day, because we are used to do that near our flat in Stockholm/ Gröndal. We have a flat for 2-4 persons, or a family with 2 adults and 1-2 children with a sunny quiet kid-friendly garden. In the garden we have a new "city-cultivationbox" with different green food-herbs and strawberries, pleace pic what you want to eat! If it´s very sunny, maybee you can put a little water on once a week. On the deck of wood in the garden we have a infra-heater near the table for 6 people. The flat is fall equiped for a 1-2 year old kid, a bed etc. Near the 2 lakes Mälaren and Trekanten you can swim after 5 minutes walk. Trekanten have a very small sandbeach for children under 10 years. The area is very green, safe and friendly.

We have 2 bedrooms with 1 doublebed (1.60 x 2.00), 1 singlebed (90 x 2.00) and we can put 1 singlebed (80 x 2.00) in the livingroom. We can open a third bedroom and have extra mattresses too put on the floor for children in the big bedroom. We have a small kitchen with everything you need, you only can´t sit there. Every room has free Wi-Fi. The livingroom have a new flat TV now! The hole flat is decoraded with second hand furniture and things, or inherited from our familys. Offcourse you can use our sheets, towels, etc (sheets and pillows are new).

Half the flat are renovated with new floors, wallpaper, everything in the bathroom is renovated in october 2023, new stove induction, painted kitchenette oktober 2023. In the house we have a washing machine one flor down, also a drying cabinet in the wc next door. But in the garden we have also laundry hanger. In the garden there are 4 different places to sit, eat or visit outdoors, and a grill. For children we have a small sandpit and a "horse made of wood". There are trees to hang 2 hammocks to relax in. The neigbours in the 9 flats are very friendly, but many of them are at their summerhouse during july. We have very good communications, 5 minutes walk to Gröndal Tvärbana (small blue railway), only 2 stations from Liljeholmen. A new airbus, goes from Arlanda Airport International to Liljeholmen, (55 minutes, every 20 minutes), and then you can take our small train Tvärbanan or taxi only 5 minutes to our flat in Gröndal. You can chose between the railway "Tvärbanan", buses or Metro to go anywere in Stockholm. With Tvärbana from Gröndal and Metro from Liljeholmen, it takes 20 minutes to the center of Stockholm. We have also citybikes to hire 5 minutes from us that you can borrow to a low cost from the Community!!! To be tourist and see Stockholm, it´s environments, lakes, archipelago and parks, you don´t need a car! Just walk, buy a "SL.se-ticket" or tickets to boats. We have a knapsac with 4 glasses, 4 plates, 2 termos for coffe or thea etc to take food and water with you! And also 3 felts of cotton to sit or lay down on and a fridge bag to take with you when you take a pic-nic.

Gröndal is a small and very calm suburb with no traffic noices or people noice in the street ( the street ends at a turning point). We have lived here since 1985 and feel very good. At the end of the street you can climb up on the rock and see around the hole city of Stockholm and the lake Mälaren. The suburb have bakery, pharmacy, different restaurants with italian, libanese, indian and japanese food and some cafées and also an Internet cafée. The best time to eat cheap and with vegetables and coffee included is lunch between 11 to 14.30 in Sweden. You can drink the water from the taps everywhere- do never buy water with long transports (save the planet). We have a soda streamer if you like bubbles into your water and 4 different bottles to take with you. Gröndal is famous for having many people with cultural professions, professors or workers. One 5:e person have roots from another countries in Stockholm, we are very openminded so you can "be yourself".

There are a park around the lake Trekanten with a small sandy beach on one side and a "Smell and Fruitpark" in the other side near Liljeholmen for children. In the center of Gröndal we have a renovated park for children between 1-12 years old with a boat to play in, swings, a climbing part, water to splash in, tables for pingis, hammocks of wood etc 5 minutes from the flat. In the store Coop you can by any food you want, and in Liljeholmen 2 station from the flat (or you can walk beside the lake Trekanten around 15 minutes) there are a big new shopping Liljeholmen-center were you can find everything you need. Lidle is a low price store with food. You can walk during hours around the lake Mälaren, following the lake until for example Mälarhöjden. There you can stay at a very old cafée called Klubbensborg. You can also take an old boat from Gröndal/ Ekensberg to Drottningholm (where our king and queen lives) and walk oround their big garden or go by the same bout the other direccion to the City of Stockholm and the railway. There are places to hire canoas in different places in Stockholm.

Stockholm is famous for it´s old small steamships and more than 10 000 islands and you can take trips to a several of them with for examle Waxbolaget or Strömma bolaget. The old boats are very safe and well renovated (it´s more dangerous to fly...: -) and during our more than 60 years of living nothing has happend. Its free for everyone to walk around the islands, take a bath etc if you not are too close to a house (The unic "allemansrätten" that only exists in Sweden). Many new restaurants or cafées take place even on the islands and all have cliffs to take a swim from and a few have small beaches. We have some favourit islands with for example, restaurants, forrest or small sandbeaches (!) we can tell you! Stockholm have many museums for example the old ship Vasa (around the year 1620), museums for children like Junibacken (Astrid Lindgrens famous books for children)and the latest, the ABBA museum. Also there are free theatre in the many parks during the summertime. For more tourist information, read : https://visitstickholm.se. But we have a folder with the best tips for you. To complete, tell us your interests and hobbies! Wellcome to our home, garden and lakes!!!

Lifestyle

My husband an I are retired but live a full life. We have 6 vaccinations against Covid 19. The area is a quiet green oasis in the very popular suburb Gröndal ("Green valley") only 20 minutes from the center of Stockholm. Since the 1980 we live by changing things or buying second hand. We live as ecologic we can and have for example no car. The public transport system in Stockholm and Sweden normaly go very often, so you don´t need to have one. The best is that you can drink the tap-water everywhere, we never buy water to save transportation costs- but we have a soda streamer to put bubbles in the tapwater at the dinner. Another tip is to eat the main meal at lunchtime 11-14.30, its cheap, very good and include sallad and coffe. If you have those informations- Stockholm is not very expensive! The flat is 1 of totaly 9 in a collective house that we have planned together at the beginning of 1980, we moved in 1985. But you exchange only our personal flat, the collective garden and the collective washing machine and dryer. The house and the flat is very well maintained, we all are cooperative members in the organisation SKB from 1916 with today the 8000 flats that only exist in Stockholm. You can enyoy the garden and pic what you want to eat from our new citybox with sallad, foodherbes, strawberries etc. We love to live 5 minutes walk from the lake Mälaren where you can swim every day. It´s easy to go to the famous and big archipelago at the sea Östersjön outside Stockholm, with over 50 different boats- offcaurse we have a folder with timetables and our other tips. You can take a bout from our suburb to the Drottningholm, where our king and queen lives and enyoy the public park. You can also take a boat to the city, from the next area Ekensberg. When we have free time we like to eat outside, grill good food, bakery, make desserts and maybe play live music and sing at the end. We have changed our flat by Intervac 2 times, but also by Home Exchange 5 times, totaly 7 times.
