Flat in Stockholm, Sweden & House in Gotland, Sweden

We have two homes for exchange. One apartment in Stockholm and one house in Gotland.

The apartment is in a quiet neighbourhood in central Stockholm. 86 square meters. 3 bedrooms. Lots of light, with many windows. Kitchen with microwave oven and dishwasher. 2 balconies, the larger, with access from the kitchen, has sunshine from 10 am to 4 pm.

2 minutes walk to tram/busstop and supermarket. Within walking-distance lies a lake for swimming and a large forest-area for hiking. Less than 10 minutes away (on foot) you can take a free ferry to the trendy area Södermalm.

The house is a newly renovated wooden house in Östergarn on the east coast of the island Gotland in the Baltic sea. 56 square meters. 3 bedrooms with room for 4-5 people. Dishwasher, washing-machine and a fireplace. Large garden with lots of space to hang out and a conservatory for windy or chilly nights.

The ocean is a 15 minute walk away and 10-15 minutes by bike or car you get to one of the most beautiful beaches on Gotland. Perfect for children. Close to the house you find restaurants, a small supermarket, fish-mongers and a farm where you can buy fresh vegetables. We have lots of bike to borrow.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Arlanda - 40 km

Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. Old town, the central part of the city dates back to the 13th centrury with lovley narrow alleys and many medieval buildings still standing. Stockholm is built on islands so there are plenty of water everywhere. The archipelago with hundreds of islands is easily accessible by boat from the city center.

In central Stockholm you can among many other things find the theme park Gröna Lund, a vikings-museum, Skansen with historical Swedish houses and farmsteads as well as a zoo with nordic animals like moose, lynx and bear.

Our neighbourhood is very nice in the summer with lots of green areas and situated by the water with lots of walking paths, restaurants and cafés. There are many playgrounds within a short walk.

The island Gotland is very beautiful with usually very sunny weather in the summer. It's in the Baltic sea so you go there by ferry from Nynäshamn och Oskarshamn, or you can fly. You can also take a ferry from Rostock, Germany. The island is about 50 km wide and 150 km long.

The main city on Gotland is the exotic medieval city of Visby with its 750 year old great wall, narrow allleys and many ruins - pointed out as a world heritage by Unesco. From there it is a 45 minute drive to our house on the east coast of Gotland.

There are beaches, small villages with nice restaurants, peace and quiet and beautiful scenery everywhere on the island.
