House in Freiburg, Germany

We've moved into our newly built house in November 2010 and live next door with good friends in the outskirts of Freiburg.
It is a big 3-storey house (170 m2 living space) with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a 40 m2 combined living- and dining-room, and modern kitchen. On the top-most floor there is a study and guest room with its own bathroom (just in case your friends want to visit you here).

We have a nice garden, with a large trampoline, a sandbox, a tree house, and BBQ.
There is also a roof-deck with a nice view of the nearby Schönberg.

Freiburg is an old university town with many interesting sights and museums, little alleys, small canals, nice beer-gardens and local wineries. The city is famous for its almost mediterranean climate, so in the summer you can enjoy the different lakes in the area, explore the Black Forest, go hiking, walking, biking, or skiing (well, that would be in winter, probably). Or you can have fun at Europa-Park, Germany's largest theme park.

In case that is not yet enough to fill your holidays, then France and Switzerland are less than an hour away by car or train. You can visit Basel, Colmar, Strasburg, Konstanz, Heidelberg…

We're looking forward to welcoming you in our home!

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (BSL) - 40 minutes by car or bus

Our part of the city is called St. Georgen. Here, you have several supermarkets, banks, bakeries, a post-office and, most importantly, a great public outdoor swimming-pool in walking distance. Our direct neighbourhood is a children's paradise with lots of other children to play with, a public playground, and little traffic.

You can reach the city centre by bus, tram or bike, all in about 20 Min.

About Our Family

We are a family of five: Anne and Michael are both teachers (English, Arts, Computer Science, Maths, Psychology). We love literature, art, music, movies and theatre, but also sports and nature. Lilli (11) enjoys climbing, reading and dancing, Bela (8) is one of the world's leading Harry Potter enthusiasts slash Karate fighters, and Matilda (4) is a big Kindergarten kid, who draws, paints, glues and cuts out stuff incessantly. Oh, and did we mention that the whole family is constantly singing?

If you have small kids, we should have most things you need available: Changing table, microwave oven, 3 high chairs, trainer bike (no pedals), proper children's bikes (12' and 18'), etc.  There are lots of other families with kids in the neigbourhood, too, so we can probably borrow bikes and other stuff in the sizes you need.
