Arnhem is the capital of Gelderland, Holland's largest province. It's known for it's green surroundings, and is located on the borders of the river Rhine. It has beautyful parks, public swimming parks, a lively centre with many shops, great bars, fine restaurants and a lovely atmosphere.
Arnhem is known in the history books from the Battle of Arnhem (A Bridge too far) from WW II and there are plenty of sightseeings that look back on that period. Arnhem furthermore is know for it's zoo, Burgers Zoo, one of the best in Europe. Also the Open Air Museum and the Airborne Museum are internationally known. On the borders of Arnhem you'll find national park De Posbank and also The Hoge Veluwe, for great walks and rides.
From Arnhem: a bit over an hour drive you'll find Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and the Dutch coast on the west. On the east side of Arnhem is Germany (20 minutes by car to the border), with cities like Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Cologne within 1,5 hours drive. Less than two hours to the south of Arnhem you'll find Belgium with great cities like Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent.
Arnhem has several airports nearby: Amsterdam (1h.15 min), Eindhoven (45 minutes), Dortmund (1h.30 min), Düsseldorf (1.15), Weeze (1h). Also our train station is connected to many international trains.

About Our Family
We are Mike (1978), Geri (1978), Mila (2007) and Gabriel (2012). We are an international family and lived in a few countries. We enjoy traveling, have broad interests and are open for any travel suggestions. We speak Dutch, English, Spanish, German and Bulgarian and had a couple of great home exachanges and are open for more!
Geri works as a a dental assistent and Michael is an editor. Mila and Gabriel are our kids. Gabriel is an outgoing personality who loves football and gaming. Mila is a book addict who is about to start university.
Lifestyle
For traveling and exchange: we love pretty much everything and are open for suggestions. Both Geri and Michael were raised in a medium sized town and have lived in larger cities: Geri for example in Sofia and Madrid and Michael in Barcelona. So yes, we always love to go to Spain, but we could go pretty much anywhere. We like cities, but in the summer (because of the kids) we prefer beaches or lakes nearby. But like we said: we're open for suggestions.
So, surprise us!
