House in Hereford, Great Britain

This is a walker's paradise!
The cottage is situated in a  very quiet, rural part of Herefordshire in an area of outstanding beauty, close to the Welsh border. The house is converted from part of a  former Victorian workhouse and presesents as a stone cottage in a courtyard setting. It was built in 1839 and has a wealth of beams and original features. There are lovely views from the front of the cottage across fields towards the Black Mountains, local woodlands and along the beautiful Golden Valley. The nearest village with shops and pubs is 3 miles away and the cottage is equidistant between the market towns of Hereford, Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye. The countryside is very beautiful and the cottage is ideal for anyone who enjoys walking or the countryside. There are many fabulous walks to be enjoyed from the house itself (such as The Herefordshire Way) or the scenic Black Mountains only a short car drive away. The Brecon Beacons National Park is approximately 7 miles. The nearest airports are Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham, all within an hour to an hour and a half''s drive away.  It is possible on a long haul flight to change at London for Birmingham.
The cottage is entered through the porch, which is also used as a wood store. There is a sitting room with a woodburner which also heats the hot water and radiators upstairs. There is a TV and DVD and a comfortable bed settee to sleep 2. The hallway and kitchen have the benefit of easily controlled underfloor heating. The kitchen is large enough for a table and chairs and has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine.  A door leads from the kitchen outside to the patio and garden with fabulous views across the countryside to the Black Mountains and up the Golden Valley. Up the original oak staicase there is a lovely landing with wooden floor. There is one double bedroom, one single bedroom, a third bedroom with a cot (and the computer) and a bathroom, You need to have a car as public transport is non existant to the house. There is parking in the shared area near to the garages close to the house. The garage is used as an additional storage area for logs for the woodburner.
