Attractive House in St.Andreasberg, Harz, Germany.

GOOD TO KNOW: there is no availability anymore in July & August 2023.

Our vacation home (200 m2) is built around 1800 and completely renovated by us. It's cosy and comfortable at the same time. It is situated in a street at the borders of a small town called Sankt Andreasberg.

From the rooms at the front you look over the beautiful little town, from the windows of the living room you see our huge garden and the mountains behind it.

Sankt Andreasberg is a little town in the Harz, a beautiful National Park right in the middel of Germany. The town is on a 600 - 900 meter altitude and has a history of mining. After the mines closed, people came to Sankt Andreasberg because of the fresh air. Right now it's the ultimate place for an active holiday: there are lots of opportunities for hiking, mountainbiking and skiing. If you like cultural things you are at the right place too. There are lots of beautiful towns around, like Goslar. Sankt Andreasberg itself has steep streets and colorful houses, it has the shops and restaurants you need and really nice and welcoming people.

We've done about 12 exchanges so far, in the USA, France, Germany, Danemark, Finland and Estonia. We've done a couple exchanges through the Intervac-website and all the others through another exchange-website. We really love this special way of travelling!

By the way: our first home is in The Netherlands, just outside Amsterdam. We can discuss all sorts of swapping: simultaneous or non-simultaneous; Dutch house or German house, cat or no cat.

Message for Dutch people: we don't do exchanges with houses in The Netherlands, except for the Waddeneilanden.

About Our Family

We are Renske (54) and Jouko (55), a married couple with three children. Our main home is in The Netherlands, close to Amsterdam.

We both have our own company, Renske does projectmanagement for non-profit organisations and Jouko works on interim basis as a director on highschools.

Our oldest son Ole (20) is studying Mechanical engineering in Delft. Our middle son Lude (18) studies Architecture in Delft and our youngest son Josse (16) is in his final year at highschool.

We all like the outdoors, sports and water. With a visit to a big city once in a while for some cultural enrichment. We love staying in our second home in the Harz mountains in Germany, alternated with exchanges to see more of the world. We like making people happy with a stay in one of our houses: happy guests, happy hosts!
