We have a nice, although rather shadowy garden, directly to the forest and to the largest park of Århus. We live in a very green area, but to be honest there can be some traffic noise from the street. There is a view from the house over the sea, and we have only 500 meters to the sea and and to a small beach, where it is possible to bathe. We are also only 500 meters away from the Danish queen's summer residence, "Marselisborg". The house is 3 km south of the center of Århus, and it is easy to go there by either car, bicycle or public bus.
Århus is the 2nd largest city in Denmark, 250.000 inhabitants. Århus is at the east coast of the peninsula of Jutland, about 175 km from the German border and 200 km from the northern end of Jutland. Among Århus's attractions are the sea, the forests, the new art museum, ARoS, and "Den Gamle By" , a museum town with old houses from all over Denmark. There is an amusement park, Tivoli Friheden , like "Tivoli" in Copenhagen but in a smaller scale. Århus has a university and a cathedral (the largest church in Denmark).
If you go by car, you will find that the distances in Denmark are short, and the roads are good and free (except for the bridge between Fyn and Sjælland, which costs about 225 DKK for a car one-way). Public transportation is also pretty good, but rather expensive.
Århus is about one hour's drive from Legoland in Billund, and about 3 hours from Copenhagen, either by train or by car.
- No children will be traveling with us.
- We do not have pets.
