We also exchange our second home, see listing NO1015019. It may be possible to use both.
We are a family of five: a medical doctor, a project manager and three children.
Our house is situated in calm surroundings in one of the most exclusive living areas in Bergen. We live 8 kilometres from the city centre, with easy access to the Bergen light rail that takes you to the city centre in 20 minutes. It takes 7-10 minutes to walk to the light rail.
We live in walking distanse to many of the main attractions in Bergen; 25 minutes walk to Troldhaugen, the home of world famous composer Edvard Grieg, 15 minutes walk to Fantoft stave church and 25 minutes walk to the castle Gamlehaugen. Grocery store within 10 minutes walking distanse.
The house is 240 m2 and very comfortable. We have 6 bedrooms; a master bedroom with a kingsize bed, two rooms with spacious single beds (120 cm and 140 cm), two rooms with bunk beds and one room with a sleepig couch.
There are two bathroooms with showers and a smaller toiletroom. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped. There are fireplaces in the kitchen and in the livingroom.
The house is perfect for people of all ages. If you travel without children, you can close the doors to the childrens rooms and feel that you live in an adult home. If you travel with children, we have lots of toys, games and garden games. Our house is also suitable for disabled people as all the main functions are on the ground floor
The garden is a nice and quiet place for recreation. You can enter it from the livingrooom.
Bergen is the second largest city in Norway with 270.000 inhabitants. The city has a variety of restaurants, large department stores and smaller specialised shops.
The city is surrounded by seven mountains that makes hiking nearby easy. Fløyen and Ulriken are nice mountains for a great view of Bergen. Bergen is an ideal starting point for shorter or longer mountain hiking. Petter is an experienced tour guide and will be happy to help you planning any kind of tour.
There are lots of places to see and things to do in Bergen. Among them are the Bergen Aquarium, Bergen Science centre, Vil vite, Bryggen in Bergen, Fløibanen Funicular, Art museums (Kode), The Hanseatic Museum, Troldhaugen – the home of composer Edvard Grieg.
Bergen is a also a good starting point for exploring the west coast of Norway. The city is surrounded by spectacular nature. You can take a daytrip by train, boat, bus or car, or spend several days experiencing the fjords and the mountains.
When exchanging houses, we want to contribute making your stay in Bergen as good as possible. We will try to help if you have special needs or wishes. We are also more than happy to suggest tours and activities.

Our Neighbourhood
NB: the marker on the map is not quite at our house. Our house is located 8 km from the city centre. The city light rail takes you to downtown Bergen in only 20 minutes. We live in a quiet neighborhood with few houses and big gardens - it feels like living on the countryside although we are very close to the city centre. Our neighboors are friendly and helpfull. Close to our house you will find a small playground, a large soccerfiled, a basket filed and a recreation area. The nearest grocery store is a seven minutes walk from the house. In 25 minutes you can walk to Troldhaugen, the home of the famous composer Edvard Grieg. We also have a small city centre with different stores a 20 minutes walk from the house.

FR090176We had a lovely time in Bergen and really appreciated the house. It was perfect in every way. Comfy beds, super tidy, conveninent to public transport, and simply beautiful. Our hosts provided us with maps, plans, and ides for travel. They allowed us to use their second home which was generous, where we saw even more of Norway. Communication with this family was excellent and our house was left in excellent state. They even kept the outdoor plants a live in a heat wave which was no small feat.
Everything about this exchange was perfect. You will love this place in beautiful Bergen.

FR1207147We had an excellent exchange with Thornam family. The house is as presented on the announce. It is very comfortable, and very well equiped. Also it is in a green area, close to public transportation. We got all the inofrmation about the house and all facilities around a couple before the begining of the exchange. When we were back home we found our house as clean as we left it.
