A nice family home south of Dublin and close to the sea, countryside and mountains.

Exchange agreed with Family in Canada for summer 2017,

We live in a quiet area just outside Bray, within easy reach of Dublin city, the sea and the countryside and mountains of Co. Wicklow and a short distance from the pretty village of Greystones. It is an ideal base for visiting Dublin city by DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) with its famous Dublin Castle, Trinity College, and countless historic locations, as well as great theatre, museums, pubs and restaurants. See New York Times article attached on 36 hours in Dublin (http://nyti.ms/1yzDTjf). Have lunch in the famous Happy Pear restaurant, "Ireland's happiest, healthiest restaurant" (https://g.co/kgs/8h5yMX) and get the bus, train or walk back to Bray.

It is also a good base for visiting Wicklow, the garden of Ireland, home to famous Glendalough, Powerscourt Gardens and Waterfall, Mount Usher Gardens and countless other historic and beautiful sites. It is an ideal location for mountain and hill walking, as well as sea based activities. Several golf courses are nearby, with Bray GC within walking distance and Druids Glen, former home of the Irish Open, a short drive away and many more in the immediate vicinity. We can provide golf clubs and bicycles to our guests.

A short walk from our house with not too difficult a climb will bring you to the top of Bray Head with great views all around and the cliff walk from Bray to Greystones is beautiful and a great way to spend a few hours. (See NY Times article below on Cliff walk, etc as well as other day trips on the DART).

Bray seafront has a lovely Victorian promenade to walk and has lively bars and restaurants at night-time, including the Harbour Bar, which Lonely Planet described as "the best bar in the world" in 2010. They have music on there most nights of the week. There is also a good theatre in Bray, the Mermaid, which has a great eclectic mix of events almost every night.

You can use our home as a base to discover "Ireland's Ancient East" from the ancient neolithic tombs at Newgrange to the Medieval city of Kilkenny, or if you want to discover Ireland's beautiful Wild Atlantic Way, Galway and the west coast is only 2.5 hours drive away.

We live just outside the seaside town of Bray and a short distance from the pretty village of Greystones. It is an ideal base for visiting Dublin city and also a good base for visiting Wicklow, the garden of Ireland. Bray has a famous Victorian sefront promenade which is lovely for a refreshing walk followed by dinner or a drink in one of the bars or restaurants. Kilruddery House, home of Lord Meath's family is a 10 minute walk, and is home to a great farmers market as well as fabulous gardens and lovely tearooms.

A short walk from our house with not too difficult a climb will bring you to the top of Bray Head with great views all around and the cliff walk from Bray to Greystones is beautiful and a great way to spend a few hours.

We are surrounded by golf clubs, and all other sporting amenities. Why not take in a big sporting event such as a famous hurling or Gaelic football clash in Croke Park as part of the All Ireland series. If you want us to arrange tickets in advance we can endeavour to do so.
