Rural retreat 40 minutes from Dublin Airport; 45 minutes Dublin
While our plans were originally looking towards Europe Covid 19 may have put a stop to this for 2020.
However, I am sure there are plenty of Intervacers like ourselves on the island of Ireland who would welcome an exchange this year.
We are retired teachers, thus flexible and would welcome an opportunity to exchange for any length of time betweek 2 days and 2 weeks! Most places in Ireland would be a consideration. We like walking, cycling, golf, eating out, eating in and generally relaxing!
Look carefully at what we have to offer in Termonfeckin, it is a wonderful place to live and a great place for a short or longer break!
Outskirts of a small village (Termonfeckin) 8km from Drogheda Town; 1km from beach; 6km from fishing village (Clogherhead); quick links by car, train and bus to Dublin; 120km from Belfast and access to national motorway routes (5 minutes). Championship golf courses (2 within 5 minutes); fishing locally, local cycling club, walks, Newgrange, country pubs and restaurants. Idyllic location for children or adults.
House is large (200m2) with 4 bedrooms, large living space, wifi, all facilities; ideal modern family home, with 2500m2 secluded garden
On occasions, our adult children may visit us during an exchange, but usually there will just be the two of us.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Dublin - 40KM
Locally or within a 30 minute drive we have amenities, facilities, events and options to meet the needs of all visitors. Further away Dublin is still less than an hour in the car and just over 30 minutes on the train. Our local town, Drogheda is <10km from our house and transport links to Dublin are fast, efficient and regular. An exchange in Termonfeckin is an opportunity that is well worth considering, if not actually doing. We love it here, but we also love the opportunities that Intervac delivers, to expand our horizons!
We are located within 2km of the beach; within 500m of two excellent restaurants; 500m local pub; 3 km 2 championship golf clubs; 5km from Clogherhead fishing village; 10km of busy local town (Drogheda, 40,000 population); 15km Newgrange ancient bronze age monument; 50km Newry Northern Ireland; 55km Dublin; 120km Belfast.

About Our Family
Liam (63), Ann (60), Doreen (28), James (25), Tom (22) are our family members. Liam is a retired school principal. Ann is a retired teacher. Doreen is working in Dept of Foreign Affairs in Dublin, James is in IT support in a Dublin University, Tom is in college doing the final year of a business degree. We have plenty of experience exchanging houses in the 90s with Intervac and are returning to this programme as our children are grown up and can mind themselves!
Lifestyle
Covid 19 most likely means that for 2020 we will only be able to consider an Irish exchange. If you are living in Ireland and would like a short or longer break in a really nice area get in touch. You cannot go wrong in Termonfeckin and our house meets the needs of all visitors in terms of comfort, amenities and presentation.
We are both retired educators and are very flexible. We are happy to exchange in both rural and urban settings. We enjoy walking, hiking, cycling, art galleries good local food and wine. When our children were smaller we exchanged on 8 occasions in a number of European countries. They are now all adults and our last exchange was 10 years ago in France. We are now free to exchange our spacious, comfortable family home, in a rural but very accessible part of Ireland. Our previous exchanges were all successful. There are plenty of activities for adults and children in the area and we can offer access to cycling, walking and golf clubs if you are interested in any of these activities. Tourists are very well catered for in Ireland and Co. Louth and Co. Meath offer plenty of interesting opportunities for holiday-makers. We are also located within the Dublin commuter belt, so if access to our capital city is required, an hour is the maximum travelling time.
