Two options: Summerhouse at the island of Öland in the Baltic or apartment in Stockholm

We offer two alternatives for home exhange:
2. Our summerhouse at the island of Öland in the Baltic Sea 470 kms south of Stockholm. The three bedroom house with a small guest-cottage has a nice garden in the picturesque village of Össby. Some of the rooms have a view of the sea. The area is an internationally acclaimed attraction for birdwatchers and there are also many places of special historical or nature interest nearby (for exampel Eketorp and Ottenby).
The village is situated in the south of the island of Öland, a summer paradise for Swedes and foreigners. The village is within the World Heritage (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/968). There are small sandy beaches nearby and a really long one (10 kilometers) in Böda on the north part of the island.
Our village is 7 kilometers from the nearest food store. You can use our bikes, but a car is handy. If you pass by Stockholm, we can exchange cars.
1. Our nice three-bedroom apartment in the calm neighbourhood of Hägerstensåsen just outside of Stockholm. 15 minutes by subway to the central station, a 30 minutes walk to the burstling bars and restaurants at Hornstull - but still, deers grazing around the house and a ten minutes bikeride to the swimming shores of Lake Mälaren. The drive to southern Öland is 470 kilometers.

About Our Family

We who live in Stockholm (and Öland in the summer) are Katarina, a writer, Gert, a debt councellor, and Adam, a 14 year-old soccer player. Plus four older kids who are studying in other cities but join us during vacation.

Lifestyle

We are a so called "bonus family": Katarina with her two children and Gert with his three. All of us enjoy hiking, biking, swimming and cross country skiing but also relaxing in the shade of a tree, reading and talking about the meaning of life and politics - or about an easy-going tv series. We especially enjoy these kind of talks with people from other cultures! Plus of course we like cooking good food from what the neighborhood offers.
Of our kids only the youngest, Adam at 14, is still living at home. The other four are all studying at different places away from home, but hopefully joining us for holidays.
