Ideal starting point for exploring Switzerland
IN THE COMING MONTHS, A NEW BUILDING WILL BE BUILT ON THE NEIGHBORING PROPERTY, WHICH IS WHY NOISE AND DUST EMISSIONS ARE TO BE EXPECTED. WE HOPE THAT THE NEW BUILDING WILL BE COMPLETED IN SPRING 2023 AND LOOK FORWARD TO HOME EXCHANGE INQUIRIES FOR 2023.
We live in a almost 100 years old two-family house, which we have extensively modernized during the last years.
On the ground floor there are the cloakroom, a toilet and a guest room. Kitchen, living room, office, guest toilet and another guest room are upstairs, the parent’s bedroom, the children’s bedrooms and the bathroom in the top floor. There are also the laundry room and a small workshop in the basement.
The arbour, a pavilion and the large elderberry offer shadow places for pleasant hours in the garden in summer - a barbecue is available too. In the summer half-year there are always salad, vegetables, berries in the garden to harvest, in autumn grapes and apples. Under the elderberry bush there is a small biotope with a few frogs and salamanders.
The railway line Lucerne - Olten goes right behind the house - whoever loves trains, comes at his expense here.

The Wauwiler Moos - protected as a "scenery of national significance" with a large nature and bird sanctuary - is ideal for bike trips (bicycles incl. 1 tandem are available), but also the Sempachersee and other destinations in the area are accessible on safe and attractive bicycle routes. Long walks with stunning alpine panorama are possible on the Santenberg.
For hikes you can reach the Napf area, the Entlebuch and the Solothurn Jura by car in about 30 minutes, Pilatus, Rigi, Gotthard and many other great hiking areas are about 60 minutes away from our house. In winter you can ski in the same areas.
For swimming we recommend the watering place Nottwil (no entrance!) in Summer. And in winter the indoor swimming pools Willisau or Reiden. Golfers will find several beautiful golf courses in the area.
Worth seeing are the historic old towns of Zofingen, Willisau and Sursee (all in bicycle distance) as well as Sempach and Beromünster. You’ll reach Lucerne with the famous Chapel Bridge and the Swiss Museum of Transport by train in 30 minutes (the Wauwil train station can be reached on foot in 10 minutes), Zurich, Basel and Bern in about 60 minutes. Day trips to Ticino, Valais and Western Switzerland are possible.
