Donabate is a small coastal town in about 20 kilometres North of Dublin City. The town is on a peninsula on Ireland's East Coast. It has a vibrant town center, long sandy beaches and a lovely cliff walk where you can take in spectacular views of Howth, Lambay Island and two Martello towers.

You can reach Dublin's City center in 30 minutes by either car or train. The train station is located in the town center with regular trains going in and out of the city as Donabate is located on the Dublin to Belfast train line.

Newbridge House,
Donabate has a fine historical "Big House and Estate" at Newbridge Demesne. Newbridge House is a Georgian mansion built for Charles Cobbe, Archbishop of Dublin in 1736. It sits on 370 acres (150 ha) of eighteenth century landscape parkland with perimeter woodland belts and fine vistas across lawns and wildflower meadows. The estate was bought by County Counci in 1985 and is now a public park, playground and model farm. The park is a popular recreational area all year round, and also contains playing pitches used by local sports clubs.

Donabate has many sporting attractions with 5 golf courses, a tennis club, 2 soccer clubs, hockey, Gealic Games and 2 Equestrian centers. The beach is also very popular all year round and is a safe swimming area.
