Open for exchange
Exchange dates Duration
July 01, 2020 - August 22, 2020 6 weeks

We are available for most of the summer as I am a teacher and do not work in the summer. Ideally we would like to exchange homes with a family for between 4-6 weeks starting in July 2020.

A pretty home in the Toronto Beaches, very close to Lake Ontario

We live in a three-storey, semi-detached red brick home. There are 5 bedrooms (one is set up as an office), 3 bathrooms, and an open concept main floor. We have central air conditioning which is usually a must in Toronto in July and August. The basement has laundry and a space for the kids to play.

We have a lovely large front porch and a BBQ and smoker on our back porch if you enjoy cooking/barbecuing. Our backyard is mainly garden and stone tile --perfect for relaxing or entertaining. There is a park just behind our house with plenty of green space, a sandbox, and a playground.

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Toronto Pearson Airport - 33 km

Our home is located in a close-knit neighbourhood in the coveted Beaches area of Toronto. We back onto a small park which is ideal for young kids. We are a 10 minute walk to Lake Ontario which boasts clean beaches, an Olympic size pool and diving platforms, beach volleyball, tennis courts, and plenty of water activities (boating, kayaking, SUP, etc.). Our neighbours are wonderful and there are lots of children in the neighbourhood. We are minutes from Queen Street where you will find restaurants and bars, fresh produce shops, boutiques, coffee shops, and art galleries. We are also a quick bike ride or public transit ride to great hiking/biking trails, downtown Toronto sports venues, shopping, restaurants, museums, and galleries.

About Our Family

My husband Nick and I have two terrific boys (currently 14 and 12 years old). I am an elementary school teacher and Nick works in finance for a Canadian Bank. Our children are in grades 9 and 7. As a family, we enjoy hiking, cycling, skiing, and tennis as well as visiting museums and art galleries. Our 14-year-old is a budding artist and avid skier and our 12-year-old plays hockey and baseball and is a budding comedian :). Nick and I are active, enjoy reading, good food and wine, movies, and meeting new people/learning about different cultures.

We enjoy travelling and have been to many different countries around the world prior to having our family. With our kids, we have been to 7 of Canada's 10 provinces as well as the Caribbean and Florida. We have a dog and a cat who we will likely board while we are on this home exchange.
