A small cottage with log burner in the cornish woods

Jasmine Cottage is a small miner's cottage dating back to 1800. It is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to the River Tamar and Cotehele House. The cottage is one in a row of four and is accessed along a woodland track. Along with the cottage are two parcels of woodland, one being cultivated and terraced with seating areas and the other more a path in the woodland. It comprises a living room with multifuel burner set in a large stone fireplace plus sofa bed. The kitchen has an oil-fired Rayburn for cooking and central heating, a bathroom, a double bedroom, a dressing room, an attic room with a new double bed. There is a small patio area immediately outside and the garden is accessed from the track about 10 yards from the house. There are garden seats and a magnificnet view of the River Tamar from the garden. Wifi is available,

Calstock is a small Cornish village on the banks of the River Tamar half an hour from the market town of Tavistock http// One mile away there is the Tamar Trails (http// which is known as the prettiest park run in the UK over miles of beautiful wooded tracks, zip wires and tree climbing for all ages with bike hire for trail riding and canoe hire. There are 2 local pubs in Calstock both of which have excellent food and some live music. ((http// and the Boot Inn has an amazing Sunday roast. Cotehele House, a medieval National Trust property is a 10 minute walk through the woods, has christmas carol singing every day in December under the garland in the great hall. There is also a very active Calstock Arts Centre in a converted chapel which has a variety of live jazz, folk , comedy and film entertaintment most evenings. Plymouth is about 30 minutes away by train over a viaduct to Calstock on a branch line which is deemed of the most scenic in the UK. There is a ferry port at Plymouth connecting to Roscoff.
