A recent house close to Tours, in the Loire Valley

Our 100m² house was built in 2007, and we just recently moved in! We have redecorated it, and it is cozy, happy and welcoming! It also has a small garden (300 m²), with some shade to enjoy.

In the house, besides the main room with the kitchen and living room, there is one bedroom with a double bed in the ground floor, with its small bathroom. And toilets in this floor too.
Upstairs, three other bedrooms. One with a large (180) bed, a second one with two small 70 bed that can be joined to be a double bed, and a third one where we can add a single bed if needed.

We live in the Loire Valley, The house is situated close to the Loire river and the Cher river. You can visit the beautiful and dynamic city of Tours, with its numerous monuments, its restaurants and bars, its cozy Place Plumereau,...

The house itself is in a quiet environement, close to Tours's city center (5km bike), and very close to the nature (1km walk). 1km from our house, is also a small lake. No swimming, but you could play volleyball, go tree climbing, etc.

Shopping is about two kilometers away.

In the area:
You can travel along the Loire and Cher to visit the internationally famous Loire castles. Chenonceau, Chambord, Amboise, Azay-le-Rideau, Cheverny, Ussé, Villandry, Chaumont...

You can visit Troglodytes houses, which are cave houses.

It is easy to bike around, with a lot of biking path, an notably the "Loire à vélo", that goes all the way to the sea (several 300-400km). There are also a lot of walks that you can do, around the rivers, or along the vines of the Loire. Or also rent a canoe. It is also possible to fly in a hot baloon above the castles.

We have a lot of good red and white wine, sparkling or flat. It is a very sweet place to visit! We will be glad to give you some tips on what to do, depending on what you like.

About Our Family

Hi! We are Marielle et François, a couple in our late thirties, and with us is our nice and well-behaved dog, Snatch. We love exploring new countries, hiking around in nature, meeting people, visiting new towns, playing games (you will find plenty of them in our house!), discovering new cultures. We are happy to have found this very human way of traveling!

We speak good french and english, and a bit of german. Snatch speaks only dog, although we have tried to teach him other languages. He understands a bit of French though! :) He is a very nice and obedient dog.

It our first time on Intervac, we just bought our house. But I (François) did a lot of exchanges with my parents when I was younger. These memories stayed, and motivated us to do the same.
