I'm thrilled that this year we made #27 on coolest neighborhoods in the world: https://www.timeout.com/travel/coolest-neighbourhoods-in-the-world. Our home is a quintessential Arts & Crafts San Francisco home built in 1908, but renovated in past few years. The home is 3 levels, with hardwood floors throughout the main level. The main level has the livingroom and kitchen, which opens up to the backyard deck, and has a den with a 1/2 bath. The upper level has 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath. The lower level has a master bedroom with a full bath, connected to an office area that opens out to the backyard. There is also a washer and dryer on the lower level. The backyard has 3 levels, filled with plants and trees, including a very old Monterey cypress which offers some privacy from neighbors. There are two fire pits, surrounded by lounge chairs and sofas. The lower level deck is partially covered, with a billiards/ping pong combo table and a basketball hoop. The house is 5-15 minutes walking to restaurants, coffee shops, Golden Gate Park, tennis courts, playgrounds, Baker Beach, China Beach, the Legion of Honor museum, golf courses and Sea Cliff. It's a quiet neighborhood, but still walking distance to grocery stores, cafes and some really amazing restaurants e.g. Pearl, Dragon Beaux dim sum, sushi, Indian, Thai. You can bike to Lands End, de Young Museum, or the Golden Gate Bridge, and during the right season, you have amazing music concerts at Golden Gate Park e.g. Opera in the Park (https://www.sfopera.com/operainthepark), Flower Pianos (https://gggp.org/event/flower-piano/ & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnFe8mQAoCA), Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and Outside Lands. In summer, there are free concerts at https://www.sterngrove.org/ - reserve your entry ticket online - pack a picnic & grab the best spots early. We also are 2-3 blocks to public transportation such as the SF Muni bus (ie #38 Geary, #1 California), that takes you all over SF. Uber & Lyft is also widely available in SF. In the early morning, the central Richmond gets nippy with fog, but tends to clear out later in the day. Layering up in SF is a must, as shade can be drastically different than sun. Our area is relatively safe, but bike thefts and car break-ins are common throughout the city, so please do not leave any valuables or non-valuables in your car - thieves use detection apps to determine if you have electronic devices hidden in your vehicles.
