A nice spacious house in the countryside, and just minutes from Cork City

Our home is large, bright and cosy, situated in the countryside 15 minutes from Cork City centre, and about the same from Cork Airport. The suburb of Bishopstown is just 5 minutes from our door, providing you with all the amenities you might require, e.g. Shopping Centres, Hospital, Leisure Sports complex with swimming pool. Ballincollig is close-by too with parks, walks, and kids zones. (The Regional park in Ballincollig has been developed on the site of the old Gunpowder mills, and many of the original buildings can still be seen - very interesting for those who enjoy historic sites.)

Our location is perfect for us - near the city but situated in a lovely quiet rural area. (Also, just 15 minutes from Cork Airport.)

Our garden is very large, with interest at most times of the year. We are letting our pond go wild to attract wildlife. You are likely to see rabbits and birds a-plenty, and sometimes our local fox can be seen.

Our kitchen/dining area opens out onto our garden and the patio where we eat during the Summer. We have a barbecue if you enjoy cooking alfresco. We have a large table near the pond and several other sitting areas so we can seek shade or sun as desired.

In the garden, we have a trampoline, and plenty of space to play games and have fun, or to relax in a hammock reading a book :)

If you have children interested in videogames, we have a games room with PS2, Wii, and PS3, and many games for each console. Our main TV viewing room has Sky satellite TV (with Sky Movies), Netflix, and a BluRay player if you would like some screen time yourself.

But you might be too busy for that! Cork City is a beautiful, vibrant, historic city, famous for its theatres, restaurants, pubs and music. A visit to the English Market is a must!

We live on the West side of Cork, so all the natural beauty of the West Cork and Kerry coastlines are within easy reach.
Some of the finest sandy beaches in Ireland are easily accessible, such as Inchidoney, a fantastic Blue Flag beach. Kinsale, a beautiful, historic gem in Cork harbour (the 2nd largest natural harbour in the world) and the gastronomic capital of Ireland, is only 20 minutes away. West Cork has a host of treasures to discover and we are only an hour away from Killarney. All the sights of the Wild Atlantic Way are within reach, such as Dingle, home to Fungi the dolphin. See http://www.wildatlanticway.com for more.

Fota House and wildlife park, Cliff Walks at Ballycotton, Cobh heritage centre (last port of call for the Titanic), Jameson distillery and the world-famous kitchens of Ballymaloe are located to the East of the City.

We're also at the start of the "Ireland's Ancient East" trail, so if historical relics are more to your taste, head East! See https://www.irelandsancienteast.com for more information.

Dublin is 3 hours away by motorway, a very easy drive with only one set of traffic lights between us and the outskirts of Dublin. So you can see the sights of the capital city fairly easily, though we'd probably take the train to avoid Dublin traffic.
