Beautiful home in Highgate, 3 minutes from the underground and busses, fantastic garden, backing onto Queen's Wood
Our house is a lovely modernized Edwardian terraced house with a beautiful long garden overlooking woods.
The Underground Station is at the end of our road so that in 20 minutes you can reach Oxford Street or anywhere in London. Buses too, are only a few minutes away . I don't need to tell you the wonderful things that you can see and hear and enjoy in London. We love it and hope that you will too. We have a great deal of information for any visitors available. When you return home you return to a lovely quiet, friendly street with woods, walks, shops, pubs and restaurants 5 minutes away. We are a short walk to historic Highgate with a number of places of interest including Highgate cemetery, Kenwood House, and Hampstead Heath. Our local woods are five minutes from our house.
As you enter our house the first room you come to is a lovely light sitting room which leads down a few steps to the dining room and the kitchen. Our downstairs is all open plan so that wherever you are, you can see into the garden and the woods. We have two sets of double doors leading to a small terrace and the garden. We modernised our house keeping many of the original features so that it is light and airy and very comfortable. The living room has a great stereo system. We eat in the kitchen or dining room but wherever you sit downstairs, you can view the woods. Our kitchen is hand made and hand painted with all modern appliances including microwave and dishwasher. In our basement we have a large freezer and washing machine and dryer. On the first floor we have a comfortable study with a sofa, a view to the garden, a stereo system and there is a computer with wireless internet acess in the study. On that same floor we have a guest room with an extremely comfortable double sofa bed The room is light and airy with great views. The bathroom on that floor has a power shower and a bath, A few steps up is the large master bedroom with a king size bed, lots of books and DVD's We have a large flat screen T.V., a DVD player .. Up a few more steps is another bright guest room with a king sized bed and again overlooking the woods. We have recently built a beautiful terrace overlooking all of the gardens and the woods. On the top floor is our beautiful study, consulting room /bedroom with a sofa bed and computer again with wireless access. Adjacent to this is a second toilet and wash room.
Our garden is 120 feet long and overlooks Queens Wood. Gardening is my hobby so it is beautiful. We have a small terrace immediately outside the house and a patio surrounding our pond with frogs half way down the garden, for leisurely lunches in the sun or a secluded deck right at the bottom of the garden, a sun trap, right under the trees from the woods so picnics can be a delight or tea in the garden upon returning from sightseeing. We now also have a lovely deck at the top of the house overlooking the woods and the gardens below. The deck is situated by the guest room.
We are very experienced exchangers, our children are grown up now and have left home so we are also open for long weekend exchanges throughout the year.

We are extremely well situated for public transport. At the end of our road (although you cannot see it or hear it) is Highgate tube station. We are fifteen minutes from central London. There is also an extensive bus system five minutes from the house. Although we are very close to central London, our area is very open with many woods and parks. The area we live in is Highgate which has a historic village hundreds of years old. Nearby are many interesting places to visits including the famous Highgate cemetery (where Karl Marx is buried), Kenwood House and Hampstead Heath. All of that and you are 15 minutes from Oxford Street, the British Museum, Camden Market, etc! Our immediate neighbourhood is very friendly. There are great restaurants, pubs and shops all easily within walking distance. Our house is an excellent base from which to explore London or other parts of England.
