House in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterdord, Ireland

Hi! Next Summer we are looking for a nice family home in any part of Europe and also will consider a swap for a week in Ireland. We will consider anything and will always get back to you with a reply. We can swap any time from July to the end of August.
Let us tell you something about where we live...
The County of Waterford is a very beautiful and unspoiled part of Ireland. It has lots to offer all types of visitor. Our home is within easy reach of Waterford city, Kilkenny, Wexford and Cork for day trips.
"Shanagorry" ( which means the old garden) is our house. We built it 6 years ago on the land where Patrick grew up. It is at the foothills of the Comeragh Mountains which are low-lying and pictureque and perfect for a scenic drive, a brisk walk or hiking.
But, we are also only a 15 minute drive from the coast. There are lots of beaches to choose from whether you want to swim, walk, build sandcastles or, even on a good day, to sunbathe!
Kilmacthomas is our nearest village 5km away. It has some shops and pubs as well as a playground but for more choice there is Dungarvan - a lovely harbour with good shops, pubs, restaurants, a cinema, a great playground and a lovely new park.
The house itself is comfortable, private and secluded and has lovely views of the valley. It is over 200m2, well equiped and we think has everything visitors might need. We have a large garden with a vegetable-patch, a deck, garden furniture, a barbecue, swings, swing ball and a goal to play football.
Inside there's a kitchen/dining/living room, a study with lots of books and a computer as well as a comfortable sitting-room with a wood-burning stove. We have four bedrooms ( 2 double beds, 2 single beds and a double sofa bed) and two bathrooms with plenty of room for 6-8 people. There are lots of toys for children including a small football table and a wii.
In the area you can visit Cork with its old streets, art museums and cathedrals, great shopping and atmosphere. Kilkenny is very historic with an ancient castle. There is also Lismore which is a heritage town. There are lots of interesting villages and towns with beautiful walks. County Wexford is also very beautiful. For golfers, there are 3 courses in Dungarvan as well as more in Waterford and Lismore.
You and your family can swim in the sea or the public swimming pools, visit open farms, go hiking, play tennis, go to the cinema, playground or eat out at lots of different restauraunts.
You can visit the following websites to get a better idea of the area.

There's lots more. Please ask and we can give you more information!

Our Neighbourhood

In the photos you can see the mountains (5mins from the home) and one of our local beaches (10 mins by car).
The Comeragh mountains are beautiful for walks and hiking. One can stroll out to the waterfall along the path or walk through the forest. Also, there is a glacial lake up high in the mountains which is a steep climb but worth all the hard work of getting there!
There are several beaches within easy reach of home - Clonea, Bonmahon, Stradbally to name but a few, all offering something different.
The last photo is of David in the park in Dungarvan which has a great  playground.
We live in a beautiful place and we are sure you and your family would enjoy all that our home and area have to offer!
