House in MEREWETHER, Australia
Our home is an old red brick Federation built in 1920's but has been fully modernised inside.
It is 2 storey but for a couple ground level living is totally ok as it only our master bed room, walk thru wardrobe and ensuite in the attic space.
Ground level has 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a study/office, kitchen, formal lounge room, family dining area, back entry/library, laundry and a fully covered patio with BBQ under roof - we dine outside almost all year as we have installed a fan in the ceiling for warm weather to make it pleasant outside.
The office has a double sofa bed if necessary but many flashing lights from computers and printer, fax etc that of course can be hidden from sight or turned off.
Our home is just 10 mins walk to the beach and about the same to the local shopping precinct. The afternoon NE sea breeze is a welcome guest in the afternoons on a hot summer's day.
We are 20 -30 mins walk from the city centre of Newcastle and on bus routes to several local areas.
We have the Hunter Valley Wineries 1 hours drive north west and the beautiful Port Stephens bay area 1 hour north east.
Sydney is 2 hrs.30 mins by train from Newcastle and they operate every hour each way.

Lifestyle
Our lifestyle is fairly relaxed and lay back - as Australians say - "she'll be right mate".
Sun, sand and surf equals summer fun. This area has several pristine beaches separated by rugged cliffs.
Newcastle’s Civic and Cultural Precinct is centred on the area bounded by Wheeler Place, Auckland Street, Queen Street and the Harbour.
It includes such facilities as the Newcastle Region Art Gallery, School of Music and Conservatorium, University House, Council's Central Administration Building, City Hall, Civic Theatre, Newcastle Region Library, Performing Arts Newcastle, Honeysuckle and Octapod buildings, Wheeler Place, Civic Station and the waterfront.
Fresco style dining is very popular and possible almost all year round as our winters are mild - warm sunny days and cooler evenings. Afternoon sea breezes keeps the climate pleasant even on the hottest day when near the beach areas. Three popular dining spots are: in the city area Honeysuckle on the Hunter River harbour side or overlooking the ocean beach - Darby Street in Cooks Hill and Beaumont Street in Hamilton.
One hours drive (slighty NW) is the Hunter Valley Wineries - and our own Blue Tongue Beer Brewery.
