We already have a deal for this summer!

Lovely house near Bruges, Belgium!!

Hello everybody,

I’m glad to present you our lovely home in Assebroek. Assebroek is a small town and part of Bruges. So Assebroek is the ideal place to visit Bruges from. Our home is very close to the city center, approximately one kilometer.

We live in a quiet neighbourhood. There is a garage, so there’s always a space to park you car.
Our house is a spacious house with a garden. We have 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one bathroom has a shower and the other one has a bath). In one of the bedrooms there is only a baby-bed, but if it is necessary we can prepare a large bed. Our kitchen is a normal sized kitchen with all the essential facilities. There is a large living room with a fire place, wood can be found in the garden. Our garden is nice and in the summer perfectly orientated to the sun. Ideal for a summer barbecue.

Bruges is internationally known and loved. This Flemish art city is among the top of heritage cities in Europe and the world. In 2000, Unesco declared even the entire historic inner city a world heritage site. Unique for Belgium and a rarity in Europe. Bruges has a wealth of valuable heritage: historic buildings, collections, museums, protected cityscapes, ... And all that on a small surface, which easily crossed on foot or by bike.

Romance reigns supreme in Bruges. Swans on the picturesque canals of Bruges, medieval winding streets and cobbled squares give the city a charming cachet.

That Bruges would grow to chocolate capital, it seemed since ages an established fact. In the late middle ages Bruges families were looking for new trade partners in far away places. They imported cane sugar from Madeira. In the 16th century Spanish explorers brought cocoa from the new world. That was mixed with cane sugar, and thus chocolate was born. Today there are more than fifty Bruges chocolatiers. They make delicious artisan chocolates and the typical ‘Brugsche Swaentjes’.

The greatest asset of the Bruges museum collection? Her great variety!
Of Flemish primitives to contemporary art, from classical fine arts to archaeological finds. Further, there is silverware, lace, tapestries, furniture and poetry. Young and old are agreed: the Bruges museums always surprise.

But our home is more than only Bruges. We have a lot more to offer. Assebroek is not far (18km) from the Belgian coast. We have lovely sandy beaches, ideal for playing and swimming. Nearby we also have some nice forests (Tillegem bos, Ryckevelde bos, Bulskampveld), the perfect places for long walks and a nice picnic.

Apart from Bruges you have other cities that are worth a visit. You can go to Gent, Antwerpen, Brussels, … and many more other cities. You can visit these cities easily by train (max 1 hour on the train).

I do not need to tell you that Belgium is the center of Europe. So if you want to visit other great cities in Europe Bruges is the ideal base to plan your visits, cities like Berlin, Paris, London, Amsterdam.

So I hope we’ll hear you soon.
