House in Brugge (Sint-Andries), Belgium

Welcome!

Bruges is a rather small city (120.000 inhabitants) but with a very rich history. It offers interesting museums (Flemish Primitives), excellent restaurants (a lot of Michelin star rated restaurants such as De Karmeliet, Hertog Jan, De Jonkman, Sans Cravate, A'qi ...) and good shopping. It has pretty squares, a lot of canals (that's why it's called Venice of the north), relaxing parks, a lot of monuments, churches and quiet cobbled streets.

A 20 minutes walk brings you to the charming center of medieval Bruges (Unesco Heritage). But you can also use our bikes to go to town. There's also a bus stop in front of our house; with 3 buses per hour you can reach the old town (and the railway station) fast and easy.
We live in a quiet street (blind alley), yet very close to the expressway through which you reach Bruges by car.

Our new house was built in 2009 and has all the modern comfort you need (spacious kitchen, two bathrooms / one with sauna, small garden, free parking space in front of the house...). We have 3 bedrooms: one with a double bed and two with a single bed. We still have a cot as well for guests with a baby. We can provide an extra bed in case of families with 3 children.
A fresh bakery, a grocery and a small supermarket are on walking distance of our house.
We provide all necessary information to visit Bruges: all sights and attractions, the best restaurants and shops, maps, walking guides...

Only 15 kms from Bruges is the Belgian coast with beautiful sand beaches.
For a longer holiday, Bruges is centrally located to visit Brussels (1h), Amsterdam (3h) and Paris (3h) by car and even London with high speed train (Eurostar).
Lille (FR) is a 50 minutes ride, Gent 45 minutes, Antwerp 1h30. Ieper / Flanders Fields (World War I area) is also easily accesible.

We're sure you will enjoy your stay in Bruges!

Kind regards,
Sandrino, Manon, Kaat & Ward

About Our Family

Sandrino works for a building constructor as a project manager. Manon works at a cultural organisation. Our daughter Kaat and our son Ward attend school.
In the garden we have two small rabbits, Rose and Bunny. They never enter the home. We also have a cat, Croquette, who lives outside most of the time but is allowed to stay in the garage at night or when it's raining.
In the past we've had several excellent home exchanges: Paris, Amsterdam, Bath, Rotterdam, Canterbury, California, Sardinia, Sevilla and Lisbon.
We take care of other people's home as wel as we take care of our own.
