Our Neighbourhood

The neighborhood is characterized by a mixture of old buildings and modern architecture, with a number of old structures relating to the area's dockland past preserved and converted into new functions. Islands Brygge is a fashionable and very safe residential neighbourhood with cozy cafes, delicious bakeries and unique designer shops. This small district has developed into an up-and-coming arts district, home to numerous trendy galleries and several restaurants. It is the place to meet in the warm summer nights where people from all over Copenhagen will gather for picnics and barbeques on the water front while watching the sun go down over the city.

Everything Copenhagen has to offer is within walking distance. Alternatively you can catch a shuttle boat 5 min. from the building for a short travel to the city centre or the famous Opera. Copenhagen on a bicycle is also a fantastic way to get around. The Tivoli Gardens is just opposite Islands Brygge and every Friday evening in the summer months there is a large firework display (best to be seen from the flat!). Copenhagen has a lot to offer. 13 Michelin restaurants, great shopping, beaches and many cultural events, such as the famous Jazz Festival and Copenhagen Cooking Food Festival.
In 2005 Amager beach park was completely redesigned and transformed into a three mile-long coastline of new sand, complete with a laguna and artificial island. The area is so extensive that despite numerous summer activities including several beach bars and children's theatre, the area never seems crowded and it's always possible to get a spot to yourself. The views of the Sweden-Denmark bridge (Øresundsbroen) are very impressive. An ideal spot to get away from the city, whether you're into sailing, swimming or just plain sunbathing, and easily accessible by public transport (including the Metro which is only 3 min. from the flat).
