This Summer we would like only to go to Edinburgh city (Scotland) or New York city (Manhattan preferentially). You can visit us in July or August. We would like to visit you in July.
We offer an down town apartment at fourth floor, with elevator, in the city of Barcelona (Catalonia).
It has got a little terrace, a comfortable living-room (equipped with an TV aerial satellite parabolic antenna (Hotbird satellite) with a lot of channels in different languages), DVD  and Hi-Fi system), two single rooms and a double room - which offer the possibility to sleep 4 people or even 5 if are kids-, one bathroom and a big kitchen ( vitro, electric oven, micro-oven ...) that permits to take meals in it and to keep clean the There is also a place of garage in the basement's next street Wellington to park quietly the car if necessary. In the basement there are two bicycles at your disposition.

Barcelona - with a 25 Celsius degrees of average temperature in July- is a modern and cool capital in Europe.

There is everywhere a lot of restaurants, theatres, cinemas, pubs, discos, museums, monuments, etc.
In Barcelona you should visit The National Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) with the world's most important collection 0f Romanesque art, The Picasso Museum, the Miró Museum, the Catalonia History Museum & the City one, the Modern and Contemporary Art Museum (MACBA), the Tapies Museum, the Born Cultural centre, the science's one for children, etc.

You have to admire the superb Sagrada Familia Church (not finished yet), the park Güell & The Pedrera and the Batlló's house, all works of great architect Antoni Gaudi and all the others works of Art Nouveau or Modernism like La Casa Ametller, l'Hospital de la Santa Creu i de Sant Pau, el Palau de la Música Catalana...

If you love sports you should visit the wonderful installations of the Barcelona Sports Football Club- and the installations built for the XXV Olympics Games, in 1992 (Lluís Companys' Stadium, Palau Sant Jordi, Picornell's swimming pols...)

You should also walk on the popular and international Rambles Street always full of people and street performances and have a look at Boqueria market & Liceu, opera house; you should walk on modernistic street of Passeig de Gràcia or on The Gothic neighbourhood with its cathedral. You will be able, besides buy all things of world in the big stores of the centre city and frighten with sharks of the biggest Mediterranean Aquarium in Maremagnum area..

You have beaches 15 Min far walk and parks& gardens very close to the house (for exemple, the park of Ciutadella, zoological garden or Arc del Triomf). You will be able to have a funny time climbing up to Tibidabo's mountain with its vintage amusing riding-attractions for kids and best views over Barcelona city or on the other mountain of Barcelona, Montjuïc, with its wonderful and love musical & light fountains and beautiful landscapes about the city. There is a lot of refreshing water-pools aquatic parks not far from Barcelona accessible by train and bus and a lot of cultural activities: theatres, cinemas, discos, popular parties... In short, in Barcelona there is all that you wish: beach, mountain, sun, art, sports, and good atmosphere...

Barcelona is also the capital of Catalonia, a thousand-year-old country with a language (10 million speakers) and a different culture from the Spanish- Castilian- one. A part of strict Catalonia, belongs to this Culture Valencia, the Roussillon in France, the Balearic Island, the city of Alghero in the Italian Sardaigne, and Andorra in Pyrenees mountains. In Catalonia, people speak both languages, Catalan and Spanish and many young people speak English too.

Catalonia is one of main destinations of world-wide tourism because people finds there wonderful beaches and wonderful natural landscapes (Costa Brava, 80 Km from Barcelona to north; Tarragona coast, 70 Km to South; Montseny mountain, 25 Km. to north; Pyrenees mountains, 150 Km to north...).

In Catalonia you will find all kind of artistic and religious monuments of Romanesque and Gothic art like the Poblet monastery (130 Km to South), piles of museums like the Salvador Dali's one in Figueres (150 Km. to north) and piles of cultural and sports activities. Catalonia has got 9 sites UNESCO'S world heritage and Barcelona is the third city more visited in Europe after London and Paris .

If you like good cooking you must taste the traditional Catalan and Spanish cooking of well recognised prestige (Mediterranean diet: olive oil, fresh vegetables and fish, paella, tapas, etc) with excellent wines and cellars (champagnes) as good as the French ones, in my opinion.

To whole Catalonia and, of course, in Barcelona, you will be able to dance la Sardana, a traditional Catalan dance.

And last but not least, I do not forget the biggest entertainment theme park of Europe after Euro Disney in Paris, Universal Studios Port Aventura ( in Salou, 100 Km. from Barcelona in South direction following AP-7, accessible by train or bus): there you can find some different atmospheres of entertainment: Polynesia Island, Far West, traditional Mexico, China, Mediterranean Cultures... and spectacular rides. You and mainly your children will have a lot of fun there.
