4 bed House with 3 bathrooms and sauna in Bath, enjoying countryside at the rear and city views to the front! Only a 20 minute walk from the centre of the Georgian city of Bath.
We are looking for an exchange in the UK for October half term 2015.
The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac with coutryside to the rear, and yet we are just 20 minutes walk from the centre of the beautiful city of Bath. It has loads of room with a large family lounge / dining / kitchen area. We also have a separate 'den' equipped with Wii, Playstation and DVD player. There is a king-size bed and en-suite shower room in the master bedroom. There is a double bed and en-suite shower room in bedroom 2, a double bed in bedroom 3 and two single beds (full sized single - i.e. 3ft wide) in bedroom 4. There is an additional separate large family bathroom with shower and bath. There is also a sofa bed in the den which can sleep 2 additional people if necessary. The house also has a sauna for serious relaxing!
The private garden has a lovely patio with a large table ideal for outdoor dining and has a rural aspect across a field which leads to the Bath Skyline Walk (have a look at the National Trust Website for more information on this spectacular walk). To the front of the house are stunning views across the city of Bath as shown in our main picture.
We are less than 1 hour drive from historic STONEHENGE and a 1.5 hour train journey to LONDON, with trains every half hour from Bath station. OXFORD, CARDIFF and STRATFORD-ON-AVON are also only an hour away, and the coastal counties of Devon and Dorset are accessible within a couple of hours drive, so there is plenty to do and see.
Bath is situated on the edge of the Costwolds, so there is plenty of beautiful countryside to visit with some great walks.
Bath is just 40 mins from Bristol Airport and 2 hours from London Heathrow. We are also convenient for some other regional airports such as Cardiff and Exeter.
We have two dogs which will usually go to kennels when we exchange. We are sometimes interested in taking them with us if we are travelling more locally and for a shorter time, but only if it suits our exchange partners. Our house is dog friendly so please ask if you would like to bring your (well behaved!) dog(s) with you.
We are experienced home exchangers, both through Intervac and also through another house exchange site that we also use. We have now completed 15 house exchanges including France, Spain, Netherlands, USA, as well as many here in the UK. We always treat exchange homes with respect and care
We prefer not to exchange with holiday or second homes if possible as we prefer to experience living in the place where people live rather than tourists. But please do contact us anyway as anything is possible!

Our Neighbourhood

As you will hopefully see from the images, Bath really is a stunning World Heritage city built mainly during the georgian era. It has many spectacular examples of georgian architecture and is often used as a location for period dramas (for example Vanity Fair). It is a haven for anyone who loves the works of Jane Austin, she spent many years living in Bath and based many of her novels in and around the city.
Bath has also retained many of its original Roman features, including the world famous Roman Baths.
The city of Bath is one of the best shopping destinations in the UK. Here you will find elegant couture and designer labels as well as smaller individual boutiques. You will also find many antique markets and fabulous gift stores.
The city is well-renowed for its eclectic variety of restaurants, cafes and bars to suit all tastes and budgets.
A more recent addition to the city is the 'Thermae Bath Spa' - a superb spa experience including a roof-top pool that uses underground hot spa water.
There is so much more to Bath too - find out more at www.visitbath.co.uk

About Our Family
We are Andrew, Sally, Ben (18) and Maddie (16). We also have two dogs called Macy & Oscar but they will not usually travel with us - they will spend the time in kennels. We would consider if you would like to bring your dog and we could take our dog to your property - particularly if you live in the UK. Do let us know if you would like to consider this.
Lifestyle
We enjoy visiting new places and exploring towns and cities.
We have now undertaken 12 exchanges (some with another exchange website) so we are very experienced exchangers and leave you with comprehensive instructions for our house and also lots of information on places to visit while you are in our area.
We prefer not to exchange with holiday or second homes if possible as we prefer to experience living in the place where 'real' people live rather than tourists. But please do contact us anyway as anything is possible!
