House in Kendal, Great Britain
We live in a modern three bedroom detached house, located very close to the centre of Kendal, a historic market town near to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Our home is very comfortable. On the ground floor is a sunny lounge, a large dining/kitchen area with patio doors leading onto a terrace with wonderful views over Kendal to the surrounding hills beyond. There is also a utility room and cloakroom. On the first and second floors there are three bedrooms, a study and three bathrooms. Outside there is safe private off street parking right next to the house.
We live within a short walk of the centre of Kendal. Kendal with a population of 30,000 has a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a lively arts centre, museums, art gallery and a public indoor swimming pool. It is less than 10 kms to the Lake District National Park which contains the most spectacular scenery in England with its largest lake (Windermere), deepest lake (Wastwater) and highest mountain (Scafell). Since summer 2017, the Lake District National Park has become a World Heritage Site. Some of our previous exchangers have used the local bus and train services to visit the central Lake District, however a car is useful if you want to reach the more isolated parts of the area. We are able to provide many maps and guides for walking and touring both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
We prefer to exchange with families like ourselves consisting of two adults only.
