House in WORCESTER, Great Britain
Our home is partly timber-framed house dating back to the 16th century and is about 11Km from the historic city of Worcester. Facing south it gets as much sun as is possible and inside there are lots of old beams- but care!, some are quite low- and other period features. We are sorry but our home is probably not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties because, beside the two staircases, there are a number of steps inside.
Upstairs there are 3 large bedrooms each with a double bed, and 1 small bedroom with a single bed. There are 2 bathrooms and a shower room. Downstairs, the main living room has oak beams and an Inglenook fireplace. There is a second living room with TV/Audio equipment/DVD player. The dining room again has oak beams and some antique furniture. The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and oven, and AGA (not working in the summer as it makes the kitchen too hot). The 'fridge, freezer and clothes washer/dryer are in the adjoining utilty room. A walk-in larder, study, workshop and cloak-room complete the picture.
You can see some of these features in the photos above.
We do have a city car for exchange but this is subject to the agreement of our insurers. Similarly, we are happy to 'exchange' computers and have WiFi but note our Broadband speed is low. It is also subject to a 10GB monthly maximum download. Above that there is fee to pay.
Often we like to travel with another retired couple (also nonsmokers) but this would be by prior agreement with our exchange partners.
We are hoping for an exchange in October/early November 2013, especially in France.
