We have booked a holiday to China in November 2026 so ideally don't want to do another long haul trip in 2026 but can arrange a non simultaneous exchange for 2027 if an offer was made. We are ready and able to do any destinations in Europe or within a 3-4 hour flight from Dublin. As we are exchanging our second home we are flexible with our dates. |

Donegal
We are open to all offers but we are especially interested in visiting Germany as one of our sons works there and would likely join us for a few days.
The house in Donegal is our holiday home - we live in Dublin - but it is very well equipped because we go up a lot (Elizabeth spends a lot of time there looking after her mother who lives nearby). It is a 2 storey house with a big garden and a vehicular entrance off-street to the side. On the ground floor there are 2 double bedrooms, a study/computer area (with another pull-out double-bed), a bathroom and utility area. Upstairs there is a kitchen-diner, a bathroom, 1 double bedroom and a large sitting-room. So 6 can sleep in bedrooms - and if necessary 2 more can sleep on a pull-out bed (but its not private!.)
The house does not have a fixed/permanent internet connection. We use our mobile phones when using the computer here (there's also a printer). We can provide a mobile phone with internet access for your stay if needed. The house has TV, DVD player and satellite channels (UK, IRL, DE).
The house was originally built in 1908 but has recently been fully refurbished. It is located on the main street of a small town, Ballybofey, within walking distance of all the town's services and amenities. It is an ideal location from which to visit and tour Donegal, the north/west of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way. We are able to exchange for up to 4 weeks. We might also be able to make our house in Dublin available for a few days during your visit, e.g. arrival/departure.
Unfortunately due to a cat allergy we are unable to exchange with people who have cats.

About Our Family
Dominic is a Civil Engineer and Elizabeth works in Local Government. We have 3 adult sons aged 33, 31 and 30 but they no longer live with us. We have done many exchanges in the past but family commitments meant we had to take a break for a few years. Our first exchange was in 2001 and our most recent one was to Germany in 2024.
As set out in our home description our son lives in Berlin and we'd very much like the option of he and his girlfriend being able to join/visit us if we exchange in Germanybut this is not essential. We visit Berlin a few times per year and would also be interested in exchanging there.
