Very cosy and comfy house in Kópavogur, Iceland

We are a family of 4, me a music teacher now working as a tourist guide, my boy friend a food quality serveyer. The elder daughter is 20 (disabled) and lives in the government home, and the younger one is 15 years old. Me and my daughters are vegetarians. We love good vegetarians / vegan food, and love everything organic.
Our house(about 180 square meters) is situated very near to all amenities: supermarkets, shops, the shopping mall Smáralind, restaurants, public swimming pools etc, and at the same time it is in the middle of a beautiful valley, so it is ideal to go for a long walk along it, which we do all the time.
There are a big living area, a well-equipped kitchen with washing machine, 2 bathrooms (1 with bath and shower with Jacuzzi and steam, and the other with shower only), and 4 bedrooms. The master bedroom has 2 tempra beds and health pillow giving you the best sleep you can get. The teenage bed has a double bed with tempra mattress, and another bed with tempra mattress as well. There is a balcony beside the kitchen and the living room, and a garden downstairs with the bedrooms.
Kópavogur is very close to Reykjavík. Just 5-8 minutes drive you will be in downtown Reykjavík where you can get all the best restaurants. There are also many restaurants in Kópavogur itself.
Iceland is a beautiful country which is famous for its unspoiled nature. The Blue Lagoon, the Golden Circle, whale watching, the High lands and the Glaciers, hot springs etc. From our house you can do a lot of day trips going to these wonderful places. Besides, there are plenty of day-tours that are easy to go from our house, like the Golden circle, Blue lagoon and the Reykjarnes penisula, the South Coast Tour(Seljalandsfoss, Skógarfoss, glacier walk in Sólheimajökull, Þorvaldseyri, Vík and Reynisfjara the black sand beach), The Snæfellnes penisula ( like Arnastapi with wild sea-life and beautiful tracking along the coast), Borgafjörður (like deildatunguhver, Reykholt, Hraunfossar). Then you can try all the local hot-spa swimming pools which are very good for skin, and they are very cheap! You will never be bored staying in our house! The Icelandic tap water (spring water) is the sweetest water in the world and it´s free!
Iceland is badly hit by the world economic credit crunch. The Icelandic króna has been devalued a lot, which is in a sense good for tourists, cause all the foreign currencies have gone up. This means that it is much cheaper for you to come to Iceland now then before, based on the fact that you can exchange more krónur from euros, pounds or US dollars. So this is your opportunity to visit this marvelous country now.
There are bus stops both down the road and up the road which run through our house.
There are 2 airlines which offer direct flights to Reykjavík: IcelandAir and Wow Airline (low budget airline). They fly to various places in Europe and North America. You can go to their web site to check their schedules:
icelandair.com
wow.com
Hope you will like our house and come to do an exchange with us.
We dont have pets in the house, but we will be glad to take care of yours.

Because I work as a tourist guide in Iceland and own a company as a tour operator, I can give you lots of information about where to visit in this lovely country. On the other hand, it is because I work as a tourist guide, we dont quite like to do exchanges in the summer when I am the most busiest. Anytime besides the summer holiday like X´mas or Easter we would be more than willing to do exchanges with you. However we can also offer non-simultaneous exchange, cos we have a second home in Borgarnes.

We dont own a car ourselves. The car we drive is a company car, so car exchange is unavailable at the moment.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

We are a family of 3 usually, Natalia, Níels and Ning Ning. Sisi our other daughter is disabled and comes to us during weekend cos she lives in the government home.

Natalía is from Hong Kong but has been living in Iceland for more than 20 years. She is a classically trained musician and has worked as an organist, opera singer and choir conductor, both in Hong Kong but mainly in Iceland. She is currently working as a tourist guide and has gained a diploma in that field.

Níels works in a slaughterhouse where he sees to food quality control. He commences about 1000 km in a week for his work.

Ning Ning studies at a local ground school. She is also a student in 3 music schools where she learns piano, cello and choir singing.

Lifestyle

We love to travel. We also love to go hiking, to be in the nature, to see great buildings and to enjoy good food. Natalia and Ning Ning are vegetarians while Níels has been increasing his intake of vegetables and fruits as well. We try to do everything to protect our environment and like to recycle as much as we can. We prefer to eat organic if we can. We love to find vegetarian restaurants abroad.
