House in Enkhuizen, Netherlands
It is uncertain what 2021 will bring... that is why we (and everybody?) has to make a reservation due to Covid-19. Pending the developments we would like to plan our 2021 vacation.
Why not vacation on an exceptional location in beautiful Holland? 10 days, 2 or 2 1/2 weeks in the period 1/2 June till half September 2021, with a preference for the month of August. We prefer this period in order to offer our daughter, husband and child (10 years old) the possibility, coming from France, to visit us a few days. We did this before but for 2021 it remains to be seen if this can be done.
As far as our hometown is concerned: discover historic Enkhuizen and surroundings and you will certainly like it.
Our house - a seperate house facing a park - is situated in Enkhuizen, with harbours, town centre, shops within walking distance. One direction leads you towards the town, the other leads you to the parc and to a small beach boarding the IJsselmeer. Our house is within walking distance with a playground, a small beach with shallow water and a fairytale park (very suited for children 1-10 years old). The famous outdoor Zuiderzee Museum also is at walking distance from our house. Our house offers the advantage of a view on the park and being close to the towns centre with bakery, supermarket etc. everything at walking distance.
Departing from Enkhuizen you can visit Hoorn, Alkmaar, the North Sea beach etc. If you want to visit Amsterdam, take the train (a 10 minutes walk to the station) and within the hour you are at the Central Station of Amsterdam. It goes without saying that the surroundings of Enkhuizen are perfectly suited for cycling, which we love to do when the weather permits. The IJsselmeer also offers various possibilities for boattrips; daytrips to Urk, Stavoren v.v.
We'd like to exchange with Switzerland, Germany south (Schwarzwald/Allgau) : we'd love to see or be near to the mountains once more.
Our names are Robert and Edith Garms (72/71). In the past we exchanged houses several times. Enkhuizen is worth visiting and offers many traces of a rich history. Welcome!

About Our Family
We are Edith (71) & Robert (72), we are retired. We have 2 married daughters, 3 grandsons. Robert likes to play his electronic organ. Edith is a family person and people's person in general. All that matters in life really are satisfying and joyful contacts with people around us. Edith likes to sing in the church choir and likes to paint, draw, write. We love being outside, making a walk or a trip on our bicycle. Edith also likes to swim; Robert not so much.
