House in Den Haag, Netherlands

We are looking for an exchange and are interested in a wide array of destinations!
Amsterdam may be the official capital of the Netherlands, but it’s The Hague (Den Haag) where the government sits (along with several international courts, for which the city’s best known). Cosmopolitan and cultured, The Hague is Holland’s third-largest town, with just under 500,000 people.
We live in a spacious townhouse in the centre of The Hague. The house has three floors. The downstairs area is open-plan, with the dining room connected to the kitchen. From the dining room you can go straight into the garden, which is a lovely place for having breakfast or a barbecue.Upstairs there is the living room and the guest bedroom. On the upper floor there is the master bedroom and a large and comfortable bathroom.
From our home you can easily walk to the historic heart of the city, where there are many museums and monuments, and many very nice shops and restaurants.
If you are interested in an exchange with us feel free to contact us for more information about our house or the area!

Our Neighbourhood

The Hague offers a wide range of possibilities for your holidays. Just to name a few:
Originally The Hague was a city built on the dunes, which is why, just outside the city, one can enjoy the most wonderful scenery. The dunes are well worth a visit, especially if you like walking or making bicycle trips. The dunes at Kijkduin and Scheveningen are ideal for these type of leisure activities.
Madurodam shows you the real Holland - but smaller. In this unique open-air theme park you’ll experience the rich history of the Netherlands through incredible scale models, surprising interactions and secrets revealed by tiny Madurodam citizens on interactive screens.
De Uithof is the ideal location for a day out. You can try go-karting, indoor skiing and snowboarding any time of the year. And ice skating in the winter.
The Omniversum offers you an unique experience. The IMAX films are projected onto the impressive 840m² giant dome. The visitor is submerged in a world of perception; the images are all around and due to the digital surround sound with 36 speakers and four subwoofers it is a true experience. Seated in a comfortable chair the visitor participates in exciting adventures in space and time.
The Peace Palace will celebrate its 100-year anniversary in 2013 and has become the icon of The Hague, the International City of Peace and Justice. It is a beautiful building in which people are working on a daily basis towards world peace.
Sea Life Scheveningen - Discover the fascinating and beautiful marine world at SEA LIFE Scheveningen: the world of shrimp, starfish and crabs, stingrays and sharks. Discover the beautiful fish from one of the world's largest rivers in the 'Amazonia' exhibition, where you will meet dangerous piranhas.
The Binnenhof ('Inner Court') is a complex of buildings in The Hague's city centre. At its centre, one finds the Ridderzaal (Hall of Knights) and the court is studded with monumental old buildings testifying to eight centuries of governing in the Low Countries.
These are just a few of the many things that you can do during your visit to The Hague, if you want more information feel free to contact us!
