Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: Schiphol Airport - 25 km
Here's what the Lonely Planet has to say about the neighbourhood:
"As one of the city’s most culturally diverse areas, the Indische Buurt has as an energy unlike any other in Amsterdam. The Javastraat is the beating heart of the neighbourhood, a hubbub of activity where Moroccan supermarkets and Turkish bakeries live alongside hip concept stores and trendy bars. Popular haunts include Bar Basquiat, where Asian-influenced dishes are served up by street food vendors Dirty Duck, and the Walter Woodbury Bar, a gin-lover’s paradise.
Stroll a little further east to reach Javaplein, home to Wilde Zwijnen, where modern Dutch cuisine is served in a bright, minimal setting. Take tram 14 to Javaplein or arrive by train from Amsterdam Muiderpoort station."

About Our Family
We are a family of three. We like outdoor activities, cultural activities, and city life. And of course board games, nice food, music, and adventure. One of our favorite things is observing daily life and enjoy the atmosphere of the place we are.
In our own daily life in Amsterdam, he works at the University of Amsterdam in Urban Planning, primarily focussing on sustainability. She works as a lecturer in Social Work at the University of Applied Sciences InHolland. And our daughter goes to a Liberal Arts and Sciences secondary school. We enjoy coffee and breakfast on our balcony, cooking nice meals, inviting friends, and enjoying the rich cultural life Amsterdam has to offer. We only have our bikes, but they are enough to provide easy access to the historic center and the city's most important sites.

CZ1015761Great exchange and communication. We enjoyed our week in Amsterdam and really liked our hosts' apartment. Thank you for the bike rental.
