A nice home in the center of town

I live in a nice quiet neighborhood, just half a mile from the largest park in town (includes the city zoo, tennis courts, a public pool, 2 golf courses and more). The backyard has a nice view of the Santa Catalina mountains. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths; master bedroom has a queen bed, 2nd bedroom has a sofa pull-out double bed, and the living room has a sofa pull-out queen bed. My house is very near shopping and restaurants, and is only 10 min from downtown.

Tucson was founded in 1775. It was originally a Native American pueblo, then Spanish presidio. It was the first capital of Arizona, and is now a vibrant multi-cultural city. It is home to the University of Arizona and is a great city located in the beautiful Sonoran desert. The sunsets here are really something to see, and the views of the stars at night are spectacular (due to the low light pollution in the city). The Mexican food and Mariachi music is outstanding here! Tucson is bike friendly. My house is 3-4 miles from the "river walk." While the "river" has no water the "river walk" is miles of a beautiful, family friendly, paved pathway along the Rillito River - remember this is the Sonoran desert - there's really no water in the River. In the 40 minutes it takes to drive from the desert floor at base of the Santa Catalina mountains to Summerhaven at the top, you'll ascend over 6,000 feet and drive through climates ranging from lowland desert to alpine forests - the equivalent of driving from Mexico to Canada.

Close to Tucson are Bisbee and Tombstone, both are small towns in AZ with a lot of history. Phoenix is the largest city in Arizona, and only a 1.5 hour drive. Flagstaff is a small college town, up in the mountains of Northern AZ - about a 5 hour drive. The Grand Canyon, one of the 7 wonders of the world, and worth the trip, is just an hour drive from Flagstaff. San Diego, CA is about 6 hours away by car, Los Angeles, CA (Disneyland) is about 8 hours.

Sabino Canyon and Mt Lemmon are in Tucson and offer wonderful hiking. Colossal Cave and Kartchner Caverns are beautiful caves with tours available regularly. Old Tucson is "12 miles and a hundred years" from town - it's an amusement park that gives visitors a taste of the old west, including an authentic saloon and "gun fights and explosions." Old Tucson used to be the site of a lot of old Western movies. If you like golf, there are many many courses in the area. My dad golfs all the time and could tell you which are the best!

Southern AZ is a great place to visit, especially in the fall!
