House in Bainbridge Island, USA

I live on an island in Puget Sound, a 30 minute ferry ride from Seattle, Wa.  The ferry leaves about every hour and carries both cars and walk-on passengers. The island is  sem-rural with good restaurants and is home to  many artists and writers.  I have a  passive solar house designed by my late architect husband; it was remodeled recently.  We have a beach access to the water and for use with small boats. The ferry is a 5-10 minute drive from our house; the Pacific coast is a 3-4 hours drive, and the Cascade mts. are 40 minutes drive from the Seattle side of the ferry.  Downtown Seattle is within walking distance from the ferry when no car is needed.  We have several gardens, decks for sun or shade, and many walking areas nearby. There are hens for fresh eggs daily (no care taking needed). The house is on 1 1/2 acres and is private within a lovely small neighborhood.

About Our Family

I am a retired school psychologist who enjoys gardening and traveling. I am able to travel at short notice and at variable times. I may want to take my teenage grandson with me if there is the opportunity. The exchanges I have done have been wonderful and have allowed me to travel on my own and to have friends join me for short stays.
