House in Emmen, in the north of The Netherlands
Our house consists of three layers. The kitchen and living room are at the ground floor. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms, a bathroom and a closet. On the third floor, we have our attic and another bedroom with a spare bed.
Our house is situated at the southern edge of the city of Emmen, in a child-friendly neighbourhood. There is a small shopping centre at walking distance and several other shopping centre at bike distance or a ten minute car drive.
At walking distance, there is a medium sized recreational area where one can swim, bike and hike. Also, the city centre, including the train station of Emmen, is at a 25 minute cycling distance. The city of Amsterdam is two- three hours away form here. Also, the rest of the Netherlands is at reachable distance.

Our Neighbourhood
Nearest Airport: Groningen Airport Eelde - 50 km
Our neighbourhood Parc Sandur is child-friendly and quiet and contains several playgrounds, one of which is next to our house. Furthermore, there is a golf course and a recreational center, where you can rent bikes and boats, play minigolf or do some bowling. There also is a nice swimming pool. All this within a five minute walking distance.
The population of our neighbourhood consist of a mixture of elderly people and young families. There's light traffic, but otherwise it's a silent neighbourhood.
In our province, Drenthe, nature is never far away. You can go and easily cycle or hike into forests and moors, due to the proximity of these areas. Our neighbourhood is situated next to a recreational area called Rietplas. Various activities can be undertaken on foot, bike or on the water.
Also, the city of Emmen is very lively and has a big theatre, several good restaurants and a nice zoo called Wildlands.

About Our Family
We are a couple of 29 and 30 years old. We have a daughter namend Loïs, who is 5 months old. We have two cats and a fish. Roosmarijn is a biology and chemistry teacher, Marnick is a legal employee at the township of Emmen.
Roosmarijn has had multiple experiences with home exchanges via Intervac. Her parents have done this a lot, that's why we're putting our house on Intervac for a home exchange. It's good fun!
Lifestyle
Our hobbies are travelling, (mountain)biking and hiking. We also like to meet up with friends and family. Further, Roosmarijn likes to bake cakes, which Marnick occasionally likes to try out.
