We're open to any suggestions for short getaways. From big cities like Paris (we are very fond of this city!), London or Madrid, to homes where we can connect with nature.

Looking for a comfortable kidsproof home in a sunny area to spend our first summer holiday with our son. Preferably with a pool to play in!
Comfortable modern & sunny Amsterdam apartment near the Amstel Canal
About the house
Our home is in a new building (est. 2017) next to the canal the Amstel, the beating heart of Amsterdam. Our apartment is based on the fifth floor, the entrance of the building is on the ground floor and you can reach the apartment via an elevator. The apartment offers all the convenience you need. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a baby bed (enough room to place an air matrass). The living room is spacious with a comfortable couch, a big TV (we have Netflix) and a large dining table. In one side of the living room you’ll find the fully equipped kitchen, with fridge, oven, Nespresso coffee machine and dishwasher. From this room you can also enter a sunny terrace. Big enough to enjoy your lunch or just enjoy the sun. The bathroom has a shower and will suit your needs. There is a washing machine and dryer available in one of our cabinets and are of course at your disposal.
Even though there are more apartments you won’t notice the neighbors as isolation is of the highest quality. Fun fact: the building is for the first energy neutral residential tower in the Netherlands as its walls are paved with solar panels.
Please let us know if you are coming by car in advance as we can arrange free parking for you in our building.
About the neighborhood
The apartment is in the neighborhood called Amstelkwartier. It is situated next to the Amstel, the river where the city is named after. You can have wonderful walks alongside the river, do some shopping or have drinks in the neighborhood.
Culture? Amsterdam has a rich history and has one of the highest density of museums in the world. Within 15min you are on the Museum Square where the Rijksmuseum (e.g. Rembrandts Nightwatch), the Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum are based. Also NEMO Science Museum, Hortus Botanicus, the Hermitage, Tropenmuseum and the Jewish Historical Museum are within a 15min reach. You can visit our wonderful canals within 10min.
Food & Drinks? Amsterdam is full of nice places to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. We will create a shortlist for you whenever you arrive in our place.
Shopping? There are loads of shops in various boroughs. Again, we will leave you some suggestions that you can visit.
Perfect base to discover Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands
Our apartment is excellent located to go to the other places in Amsterdam as the apartment is close to the metro (2min walk) and the Amstelstation (10min walk). Using the metro you can be in the citycenter within minutes and via the Amstelstation you have access to the Dutch train railways e.g. whenever you want to go to Utrecht it will take you 20min. If you are travelling by car, you’ll be in 5 minutes on the peripheries and have an instant gateway to the rest of the Netherlands.

About Our Family
Hi! We are a family of three: Maarten (34), Kimberly (31) and Otis (born April 2019). Maarten is a consultant and Kimberly is a marketeer in a museum, the Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery in The Hague. We both love our city, culture & art and food & drinks. We also love to travel. We travelled via Intervac a couple of times and enjoyed it every time. For us it's an adventurous way to discover new places. Please contact us when you have any questions or if you'd like to make an exchange suggestion!
